I’ve had them for five years and can’t get rid of them. They have have also been spreading a lot since I’ve gotten pregnant. Help!

What treatments have you tried?
Regular Bazuka did SFA to DS's verrucas. One application of the extra strength stuff and they were gone.

I’ve tried acv and cotton ball, doctors freezing them off, wart stick, I’ve tried Bazuka too but they always come back :(

Following because both my kids have them at the moment. I used bazuka on both of them and thought it had worked but a year later they came back on both kids

I had some for many, many years, and tried every possible thing you could Google or think of. As well as all the treatments you can get from a chemist and everything from the weird to the wonderful suggested online, I had them frozen at the GP surgery, went to a private chiropodist for a course of treatment and was also referred to the hospital who basically told me that there was nothing more they could try. I was miserable, they were unsightly and painful and I was paranoid about passing them on to anyone else so never went anywhere barefoot and always used a bathmat in the shower. I was sick of professionals telling me that they would go on their own eventually. After over 20 years they were still there.

I then went to another chiropodist once a month for a year and he finally got rid of them for me. He went a lot deeper than the previous chiropodist had done and it was pretty brutal, for a day or two after the treatment every month it was painful and they bled. But I was determined to stick with it and eventually they went and never came back so I couldn’t have been happier.

Good luck!

p.s. you might want to get this thread moved to a Health topic.

I never did it but you could look into needling - this apparently works

A year later is probably a different strain! There are about 16 different strains of virus that cause them.

I had a couple whilst I was pregnant & I did the file down, apply clear nail polish & cover with duct tape - did it every night & they were gone in 3 months.
DD (10) has one now & doing the same but it's seems to be going down quicker so hoping it'll be gone in another month.

eyespartyparty · 07/01/2025 12:55

The only thing which worked for my DD was the Salactol liquid - applied it twice a day and after about a month it fell off. A friend who is a chiropodist recommended it and said the bazuka ones etc don't usually work.

I had to get one lazered at a podiatrist last year , it hurt like absolute hell but it got rid of it and it was a beast.

Imperrysmum · 07/01/2025 13:01

I got rid of mine with a thick layer of sudocrem and then black duct tape on top, left that on for a week (no refreshing it, no checking it, just leave it) and it completely vanished. Professionals will tell you this won’t work, but it did for me, I was so shocked. I’d had that verruca for about 10 years.

ForAmberBeaker · 07/01/2025 15:53

That’s great! I couldn’t imagine having them for 20 years.

I had cluster verucas for about 10 years. Couldn't get rid of them and so wore shoes/sandals/a rubber swim sock to avoid infecting others. My gp said that they would go naturally - he had never met an old person who had a verucas! He was right. I woke up one day and found they had gone! And they've not returned.

Thanks! This gives me hope they will go away on their own!
