I'm due 22nd October 2022. This is my 3rd baby. I have an 18 year old son and a 12 month old daughter. Would love to meet some other due around the same time! Xx

I suffer from hyperemisis which I know is coming, will hit me near to 6 weeks 😞 so I'm dreading this. This will definitely be my last so a straight forward pregnancy will be nice

Dontbeaneejit · 01/03/2022 20:29

I have two DC. 3 and almost 2. Left a bigger gap this time. I've not had huge amounts of symptoms. Just a watery mouth, night sweats! And a heavy stretchy feeling. With my previous two I've had awful morning sickness through the first trimester so I'm expecting that to kick off any day now. I think I'm about 6 weeks. Dreading it! It's so hard to keep it a secret when you're obviously throwing up everywhere!

Bramblecrumble21 · 01/03/2022 20:58

I called up my GP and filled in a self referral form. I'll be contacted by the midwifery team when I'm 8-10 weeks pregnant.

Foxglovesandlilacs86 · 04/03/2022 09:01

@Bramblecrumble21

Foxgloveandlilacs I hated being pregnant last time. I didn't have much morning sicknesses but My mental health was awful, I didn't know having children was right for me and the birth was not straitforward. Neither was it the most traumatic. I remember I had a canula in each wrist and I'd bend them during contractions and only felt that pain after I finished. They wouldn't immeadeatly remove them either so holding and feeding my baby was weird. It felt like a very long 8 months so I knew I wanted at least.a gap or to leave it at one. However, I'm so happy being a mum, and I loved the newborn baby stage even, which I was fearing. So this time I'm more positive. I know what to expect. I may pick your brains about a water birth later. I tried to use water in early pregnancy but it was so uncomfortable and when I was admitted I couldn't have one due to infection risk. My waters broke as the first labour sign and it was 36 weeks.

I hate cannulas! I have really shit veins so it takes them a few goes to get them into me!

I had the same thing with waters breaking and nothing happening (not early though) Did you have the drip last time to bring on contractions? That’s the only birth I had that with and it was my most painful, fingers crossed you have a better experience this time x
Lemonbell · 04/03/2022 18:59

Hiya team. I got my call from the midwife today and she’s coming round on 18 March for my booking appointment.

I’ve also got an early private scan booked in for 15 March when I’ll be 8 weeks - just want to see a heartbeat to confirm there’s definitely a baby and that it’s ok!

Bramblecrumble21 · 04/03/2022 19:48

Yes foxgloveandlilacs. I had the oxytocin drip. They wanted to give it straight away but as there wasn't room in the labour room I waited overnight in antenatal and by the morning I got a room and my contractions started naturally and I was 3cm dilated. So i didn't have the drip until the evening. Before that I could manage the pain with breathing and different positions. After that I had gas and air then an epidural. Then an episiotomy. As well as the cannulas I was nill by mouth for far too long. So I'm hoping for a better birth. Gonna get some sort of plan down. I had one drafted but not printed. Plus a tens machine ordered but not arrived.

MLB1984 · 04/03/2022 22:22

@Bramblecrumble21 I thought that too but if you look on Google it says November is the least popular because it's valentines as people are more aware of needing to use contraception! 🤷🏻‍♀️ that isn't considering those trying of course ☺️. I don't actually know that many people born in November but I'm an end of October baby myself so I like it 👍 x

WaitingForEgg · 04/03/2022 22:28

Can I join? I’m 6 weeks today, due 28th October
I have DD who is 6. We wanted a bit of a gap but didn’t anticipate it would take 18 months to conceive (I finally fell after first stimulated cycle).

Feeling so nervous. Have any early scan booked with my fertility consultant on 16th March. Very tired, nauseous and very sore boobs

Dontbeaneejit · 04/03/2022 23:16

Ah congratulations! A 6 year gap can be great though I bet your dd will be so excited!!! I got my scan appointment today. Middle of April. It's just so painfully long til the 12 week scan. How do you go about getting a private scan? I'm 7 weeks tomorrow but still only feeling very mild nausea. With my other two I was so sick from early on and I'm trying not to worry that it means something. 5 more weeks til my scan!

WaitingForEgg · 05/03/2022 13:23

@Dontbeaneejit It will actually be almost a 7 year gap by the time baby arrives… but I feel ok about it. My DD has her own life of school and friends etc, and I never wanted a small gap. Also plenty of time with just baby while she is at school.

I was already with this clinic as had my fertility treatment with them, so the scan is with my consultant. However we had an early scan with DD too. Pretty sure I just googled private early US and lots of places came up. Can be reassuring as if they find heartbeat thats a very promising sign things are well

SwordOfOmens · 05/03/2022 13:39

Hello, I'm due end of October/early November after 6 rounds of IVF in Istanbul. I have an 18 and 12 years old but this will be my first baby with my husband.

I am 6 weeks pregnant and had 3 losses on this journey. I have an early scan at the hospital on Tuesday.

I am already in maternity leggings and jeans due to bloating!! Lovely to see you all

MooseBreath · 05/03/2022 19:07

Hi! According to online calculators, I'm due with my second child on Halloween, which is also my Mom's birthday 🎃 Feeling the nausea big-time. Also tested positive for Covid yesterday which is fun...

Margo34 · 06/03/2022 16:11

I had some friends over today, the age gap between their 2 children (3.5 and 1) will be similar to my little one and the one on the way - it was absolute chaos and now I've no idea how I'll cope with 2!! 😭😱 I'd like to think we thought it through first having a reasonably small age gap but now, I don't feel like we actually did!! Gahhhhh!

Congrats and hello to @moosebreath, @SwordOfOmens, @WaitingForEgg

ZoeyT · 07/03/2022 06:18

Woke up with cramps and quite a lot of bright red bleeding yesterday so my doctor got me in for an early scan. Was convinced I was miscarrying so couldn't believe it when we saw a strong heartbeat. Such a relief and very surreal! They also saw a big haematoma (apparently quite common in IVF), hence all the blood but seem reassured it should absorb on its own. Have to go back for another scan in 2 weeks so just keeping everything crossed until then.
Other than that no real symptoms and no nausea....yet!

Hi to all the new joiners and congratulations!!

You will be fine! My eldest was 21 months when my second was born. Honestly they are so lovely now. They love each other. My youngest is nearly two and number 3 is on the way so it's gonna be all go but I love having them close in age! You'll love it!
Lemonbell · 07/03/2022 14:23

@ZoeyT that must have been such a worry for you. What a relief everything is ok.

Margo34 · 08/03/2022 21:06

Oh I hope so @Dontbeaneejit! And it was all sunshine and rainbows for the first 6-12m of having two, yes??????

100% of course! Not to mention spring 2020 when we were all caged up in the first lockdown together! That was super fun! 🤣

Is anyone a young mum to be in Aberdeen? I'm extremely lonely and struggling to relate to others Sad xx

Margo34 · 14/03/2022 10:32

I'm out ladies, miscarried this weekend at 8+3 😥

Good luck to you all, wishing you happy and healthy pregnancies 🙏💐

Lemonbell · 14/03/2022 11:06

Oh @Margo34. I’m so sorry. Please look after yourself 💐

Kirkyssketchbook · 27/04/2022 22:23

I'm 35, due 5th Oct, first baby, first round of IVF. It only takes 1... Out of 6 eggs retrieved (but 1 just a shell!) 1 egg was viable. Our miracle baby 💞🥰
