Hi
New to this site so I hope I have posted this message in the right place?!

I am looking to do a hypnobirthing course this summer(baby due Sept) through the Hypno Clinic. Does anyone have any experience of this clinic.

Also my husband is keen for me to start antenatal yoga classes to compliment the hypno classes, is this necessary?

Not heard of the clinic myself
You will find more threads on hypnobirthing in Childbirth

Yoga is entirely separate but could be useful

Are you taking a normal antenatal class with the NHS or NCT?

Hiya - I have just found a different course on hypnobirthing; think the main things you need to check are that it is the Mongan technique and that they are accredited. Also check that they include books/ cd's as part of the course because the majority do.

Re the yoga - dont think it is necessary to complement the hypnobirthing per se; but it is really good for general relaxation and assisting your body in coping with the additional strains of being pregnant.

I have been too busy to go to my weekly class at the moment, but plan to start going twice a week from when i start my maternity leave at 34 weeks.

When in sept are you due? I am due 28th.

There are more threads on this in pregnancy also, I started one last week.

Thank you for your responses.
I shall be taking parenting classes in July at my local health centre as I figured that the money I save not enrolling with NCT I could invest in hypnobirthing.

The hypno clinic is accredited by the Hypnobirthing institute and they use the mongan method. I will be getting a birthing book and CD so that I can practice at home.

I am due on the 7th September and plan to start yoga classes this week. At 30 weeks in I am starting to feel uncomfortable and my lower back can ache if I am not in a comfortable position. So I guess these classes can only help?

Also make sure you receive a total of 12.5 hours of instruction - my teacher was accredited but shortchanged us on the hours

Hi mamaroo - the yoga will definitely help with the aches. are you also sleeping with enough support. I was beginning to get some niggles, then invested in a body pillow. am sooo comfy when i sleep!
also - if you are getting niggles - your work environment should be checked out to ensure you are getting what you need from them - posture starts to get more important the further you get along, or so i am told!

enjoy the yoga - it is fab! and we can swap hypno birthing experiences too!

p.s. if you are due in sept, come join us on the due in sept thread....

hello you two, i do pilates for pregnancy and would thoroughly recommend it. Don't know about hypno-birthing, but i suppose remaining calm and focused during labour and birth is only good for everyone. I wouldn't use it myself, but i am quite a calm sort of person anyway and probably 'do it myself'.
i shall watch with interest...
