Less than a month for me @ButterflyGem (due on the 7th 😉). All a bit real now isn't it! My last pregnancy yoga class is this Sunday and I've got a friend's wedding 2.5 hours away next weekend when I'll be 37 weeks- I've told myself as long as I make it past that baby can come whenever they please afterwards!

And only just saw your previous post re: increase in discharge... yup! 🙈 So delightful!

Bobbiepin · 09/09/2017 08:13

mummabubs that's so exciting! How do you feel about it?

mummabubs · 09/09/2017 12:06

Excited and scared in equal measure! How are you feeling? We chose not to find out the sex so I'm really excited to see if we have a boy or a girl (I absolutely love our top boys name, whereas I think contrary to what I first thought a girl might take a little longer to name!) Can't believe that in a week we'll be considered 'full term' according to NHS and my antenatal classes 😱😱 (They both quote 37-42 weeks!)

mummabubs · 09/09/2017 12:08

Also meant to add I've heard that too about worrying... I've been surprisingly measured during pregnancy but I'm sure the second they're out I'll find plenty of things to worry about!!

Bobbiepin · 09/09/2017 14:51

Yeah, they told me that you aren't overdue until after 42 weeks. This baby better come before then, I'm not hanging on for weeks longer!

I'm the same. I'm trying not to think too much about the labour but taking the baby home and stuff scares me. I'm very worried about becoming isolated once the visitors have died down and DH has gone back to work.

TheLegendOfBeans · 09/09/2017 15:26

I cannot wait for this baby to be here. I'm still getting kicked about re a CS date and I'm on my knees as I have just a touch of the cold but couple that with a toddler, recently having moved house and a DH who is utterly hell bent on completely renovating the place it seems i just want to cry.

I never had the nesting instinct with DD and now I do have it I'm stopped at every turn as our stuff is all half packed in boxes full of shite and on high and I can't even get my hospital bag ready as 50% of it is in a sealed box that weighs a ton. I was all set to sort baby stuff this afternoon after finally getting peace in which to do it and now I'm sat on the floor staring up at the heavy boxes all high up and no way to be able to do anything with them.

I also know as well that I'd fall off the stepladder if I tried to get them down. I'm clumsy and all fingers and thumbs at the moment and I just need a flipping break.

Argh - moaning. This pregnancy has been so much tougher than my last one. I'm never moving house again and next time I'll be in work. So much more straightforward.

KitKatSplat · 09/09/2017 16:27

Stupid question - blankets over the baby in bed. Do you tuck the baby's arms in, or leave them out? Why is weight important with sleeping bags?

TheLegendOfBeans · 09/09/2017 16:29

I swaddled with DD and plan to do so again. Arms in, but she'd manage to punch out an arm in milliseconds.

Sleeping bags are awesome but tiny babies are used to being all squished in(utero) so a "tight" swaddle or blanket wrap usually means baby is more likely to drop off than not.

mrsbumblebees · 09/09/2017 17:56

I could be wrong but I had in my mind that with blankets you keep arms out, to stop them wriggling under the blanket and covering their face? Is that right? Different if you are swaddling though.

I've bought a couple of gro snugs to try (which I understand are a cross between swaddling and sleeping bag) and with those you can do arms in or out. When they are older I will try them in a sleeping bag. I understand weight is important because they need to be big enough not to wriggle down inside the sleeping bag, basically once they can't get their head past the head hole i think they are ok if that makes sense?!

ButterflyGem · 09/09/2017 19:06

I'm just back from a 4 hour speed awareness course I could have done without lol £92 too. I git caught on 4 July I never usually speed at all but was doing just over 30 going into a 60 area. #drained. I'm off to see my friends baby now he's only 2 weeks old scary to think that will be me very soon lol. I'm also worried about becoming isolated as I live in the country. I think these last few weeks are flying by xx

Bobbiepin · 09/09/2017 22:04

@legend that sounds really tough. Could it be worth listing the things you need so at least those boxes can be prioritised for unpacking? Lists always make me feel more organised. Otherwise give dp a reality check, other than the nursery and the essentials, DIY can wait.

@bumble I think its arms out with blankets over the top but anything tucked under e.g. swaddle /gro swaddle/gro bag/sleeping bag can be arms in if you have the weight right.

@butterfly that sucks. They always stick cameras in the worst places. If its any consolation DH had one that cost much more than £92.

GimbleInTheWabe · 10/09/2017 09:42

Happy Sunday everyone! Anyone got anything nice planned for today?

You house movers have my utmost admiration, I'm pretty much napping daily now from about 4-6 so I don't know how much worse I'd be with all the stress of unpacking and wanting the place to look nice! @TheLegendOfBeans give your DP a nudge and tell him that the baby could come any day now so you need the stuff, not bloody wet paint!

Tomorrow I'm 37weeks Shock can't believe we're going to actually see some babies soon appearing on the thread.

Good morning good morning everyone!

Sorry for the radio silence after my horrific week a couple of weeks ago. Hormones and breech baby pain got me into a really horrible place but I feel like I'm out the other side now.

Baby girl is still breech ... damn you! I'm trying everything under the sun but I've reached the point of what will be will be now.

We finished our NCT this week and now everything feels so much more real ... and exciting! Has everyone else done their antenatal courses yet?

37 weeks tomorrow and I finish work on Wednesday ... so fingers crossed this is a good week!

Babies are going to start arriving soon!!!!!

mrsbumblebees · 10/09/2017 14:47

Glad you are feeling a bit better wapsmahoney - not long to go now!

I did my NCT course quite early and we've just had a lovely pre-baby catch up and brunch as the first of us is due in 4 days - however one baby decided to come 6 weeks early and we had the pleasure of meeting him today too on his very first outing! Very surreal to think I'll have one of those in a few weeks...!!!

greentreeseverywhere · 11/09/2017 15:25

my boots have really started to hurt. my nipples are erect nearly all the time. one keeps going inverted and seems puffy around the nipple. I have lumps and funny bits of skin. some feels leathery and some feels smooth. they are both just totally random and doing different things!.
I'm 36+4 so assume it's milk related. I did talk to my midwife last week and she said there's a lot going on in there and they are both their own organ so are different.
would I be irrational to book a Drs appointment to get them checked?

greentreeseverywhere · 11/09/2017 19:42

I obviously ment boobs!!! I haven't worn boots in monthsGrin just flip flops

PingusMistress · 11/09/2017 22:30

Hi all, I've been keeping up with the thread but not posting much the last few weeks due to work and holiday. Quite jealous of those of you finishing work already, I have another 5 weeks to go as I'm not due until end of October. It will be so exciting when the first thread babies start to arrive though!

@greentrees if you are worried then why not get checked out to put your mind at rest? My boobs are getting bigger and a bit sore and starting to leak a little, but they are not different to each other.

@wapsmahoney hope your little girl decides to do a somersault soon! Have they offered you ECV?

@legendofbeans you really have my sympathy about house move mess coupled with the nesting instinct kicking in. I am in a similar situation, as we just found out we have dry rot in the house extension, so half the floorboards have been ripped out and there are workmen in and out all the time. All I want to do is make the house clean and cosy for the baby, but it is pretty much impossible right now. I had a little tearful meltdown about it this weekend.

I'm feeling a bit better now though as we got the baby stuff down from the loft today, and I spent £200 on Lakeland laundry and cleaning products so I'm ready to get nesting!

DH and I still can't agree on a boy's name though...

PingusMistress · 11/09/2017 22:44

Forgot to say that for those of you suffering from heartburn, I have just discovered ranitidine and it is pure magic Grin

ButterflyGem · 11/09/2017 22:48

I went for scan today & all is good, placenta has moved & baby's head is down eek. Could come anytime. 😃
I've definitely noticed a difference in the way I feel this last week - strange but i finally feel more relaxed & like my body is ready & all will fall into place. Also after talking to the midwife today at hospital I'm tempted to give breast feeding a try even of its just for a few days. Are any of you planning on using formula milk, if so is there any you would recommend? - she suggested aptimil. xx

GimbleInTheWabe · 12/09/2017 09:47

Glad you're feeling positive @ButterflyGem! And brill news that baby has got in to the correct position. As for BF there's a great source of info on La Leche Leagues website so may be worth checking that out.

@PingusMistress don't worry DP and I have a shortlist... of about 8 names haha. Has anyone properly decided a name yet?! I need to see this little guys face before I decide I think.

Also I'm now panicking as my placenta is grannum grade 3 which apparently you should only have post 39 weeks Confused on the bus to my MW appt though so am going to check it out with her and see if it's an issue.

Not posted in here in a while!
I'm 34 weeks today - excited!!

Moved house about 3 weeks ago so I'm glad that's all settled down.

Been having a bit of a panic that the baby will be here soon, but I've got everything organised (if I pretend that the baby's room isn't a storage room with no wall paper for now), but at my midwife appointment yesterday, the midwife mentioned the baby's head is engaging, so now I'm panicking again - this can happen and labour can not start for weeks, right??

mummabubs · 12/09/2017 12:05

Just a quick reply on the move to say don't worry @leannejade - my friend last year had a nearly fully engaged baby at 33 weeks and she still went 10 days after her due date!! 😊

GimbleInTheWabe · 12/09/2017 14:09

Managed to fall over.... AGAIN. Seriously I think I should just be chauffeured from place to place as I clearly can't be trusted to simply walk from one place to another. Luckily fine again but have a pretty sore and twisted ankle. This time someone saw me go down and just walked on by.. I mean I know they don't have to help me but you'd have thought they would have done!

Good stuff about moving in @leannejade! And yes don't worry too much about baby's head being engaged as my friend had he same and she still went overdue. Maybe just keep an eagle eye out for any symptoms.

Hey guys. This is major tmi so I apologise...
Just wiped after going for a wee, and I think I've lost part of my mucus plug???
Googled pics and it looks exactly the same... like a big lump of snot.
What shall I do???? Googling frantically and it veers from saying it's fine to labour is imminent... I am only 34+2... help help help...

GimbleInTheWabe · 12/09/2017 17:46

@boxesoffrogs I'm pretty sure that I've read on here that other pg women have lost their mucus plug over a few weeks so I wouldn't panic too much. Was there a lot or just a bit? If in doubt maybe ring midwife/labour ward for some advice as I guess at 34weeks it's possibly a bit early to start losing it but try not to panic!
