Yup BeansterMum, I'm in Scotland....

thelady · 31/03/2007 22:38

Question: how soon would/did you tell anyone except Dad-to-be? I know 3mo is the traditional 'safe' time, but can anyone enlighten me on the reasons, please?

cinnamontam · 31/03/2007 23:05

It feels like yesterday I just found out and the 'Due in May' thread was the farthest away. Now there is a 'Due in Dec'

To begin with I couldn't sleep on my stomach cause my boobs were so sore. Now the boobs are fine but there is still no sleeping on my front cause the belly is too big and Bean spends all night doing handstands on my pelvis and resting her feet on my ribs.

Wishing you lovely ladies all the best

mad4girls · 31/03/2007 23:25

thanx cinnamontam

nice to know we have some support

kandi · 01/04/2007 09:16

kitsilano, haven't really got any symptoms yet either, so am a bit paranoid. I do feel a bit sicky, but I was throwing up 5 times a morning last time, but I think that was from about week 6/7 so will try not to worry too much. Lissie, congratulations honey, if I recall correctly you recently had an ectopic pregnancy? So I am really thrilled for you. Oh these early weeks are hard, aren't they. DD was conceived through IVF after trying for 4 years, but this one is totally natural and a total shock! But a lovely one, of course!

uhohtrouble · 01/04/2007 10:08

Morning all!

Anyone else just SOOOOOOOOOO tired?! I just dont seem to have the energy for anything!

We told my Dad on friday night, mainly because we are so close, and trying to keep it a secret wouldnt work - he knew I was pg with DD1 before I did!

He's been ok about it, just on my case already about not lifting, insisted he pushed the buggy in town yesterday etc - grrrrrrrrrrrrr he is so overprotective! 9 more months of being pampered to and I will need a rest I think!

thelady · 01/04/2007 11:27

Oh yes - making it through 12 hours awake is becoming a real challenge! Tricky when you're self-employed as a hotelier I can tell you....

Hopefully this won't last too long, as we start full food service in May, and things will get truly mad busy from then on in.

cazzybabs · 01/04/2007 19:37

Well I survived 4 days at my parents without becoming suspesious of why I was not drinking! Although I was a little bad (by accident) as I stroked a baby goat - which should be avioded. I didn't strolke the lambs but forgot about the goats.

And tomorrow I am off another farm to see lambs and goats - must not touch! I have eaten so well - my tummy has expended and so I must do more excersise else I will be sooo big by December.

Hi guys.

Cazzybabs - watch going to farms please - at this time of year with the lambing season underway I believe there are issues with some hormones that the mothers give off which can cause mc. Only remember my MIL last time with DD not letting me near their farm for 2 months due to this - no idea what the scientific names are but there is a problem I think - be careful .

As for telling people, I've worked on the fact that if anything did happen i'd need support from my family so have told them, but would agree in general that after 1st scan maybe is a good time to compeltely go public,

And yes, UhOhTrouble - I'm knackered!!

Nice to be home though and had huge huge hugs from DD last night so feeling a bit better today that my last post

tombliboo · 02/04/2007 15:41

Agree with everyone about feeling knackered! Didn't know about the farm thing - is this only during the 1st 12 weeks? Not that I am likely to see lambs/goats in the next few weeks....just being nosey!

Have told my mum (but only cos she lives on the other side of the world and sworn her to secrecy) and a couple of close girlfriends. Not told anyone else yet.

Yeah, I am scarily efficient (comes from my former life as a PA). NHS also being frighteningly efficient. Saw doc on Thurs and got my hospital letter for 12 week scan that Saturday! However (and this is new for me) I had to ring this special NHS number and give a special password to get a booking in appt at the hospital. Is this standard practice now? Last time (when I had DD who isn't yet 2) the midwife phoned me and arranged both appts.

Glad to see our due in December thread is growing!

skidaddle · 02/04/2007 16:03

Hi everyone,

Congrats to all. Can I join the due in december thread too? Just did a test and got a bfp but don't even know my due date yet (mid decemebr I suppose).

Like others I don't feel very pg yet, thank goodness, long may that continue - morning sickness is shit (dd is 17 months)

Hope everyone is feeling fine

MrsMcEasterBunny · 02/04/2007 16:46

Wishing you all happy, healthy pregnancies! p.s. I want to be here too - working on it!

cazzybabs · 02/04/2007 17:20

I have read up about sheep and the risk to pregnant women - its if you touch the lambs and ewes. You are alright to be near them but not touching them (or any of your family)...so we looked at lambs but did not touch.

Ohh I aslo saw some baby piglets - I want one!

Am craving chocltae (yer right) and fruit...

Thelady - to answer your question about why not to tell people till after 3months is because then your risk of miscarriage decreases. Because of having had 2 mc before we have not told anyone this time until we have seen the scan and that heartbeat (please please please) but only because Iam quite private and should I lose this one I wish to grieve on my own (with dh).

However, with the 1st two pregnanies (successful) we told parents early on.

I think it is up to you - should you have a miscarriage who would you like to support you? And tell them.

I've got to wait for a dating scan before I'll know my due date - I'm either 5 weeks, or rather more!! I'll keep you posted, or disappear onto the Nov. thread....

Thanks for the input re telling people cazzybabs. We've decided to wait until after the first scan before telling close family, but it'll definitely be before 3 months for my family. DH's mum is a bit clouds-of-feathers over everything, so we'll maybe wait a while before telling her.

GP did a classic double-take when I told her this evening. We've been trying for years, and done clomid for six months - all with nothing. Then this, out of the blue. They want to do their own test tomorrow, and then we can schedule the scans.

cazzybabs · 02/04/2007 21:19

Oh that is amazing....oh I am keepign everything crossed for you!

OP posts:
thelady · 03/04/2007 07:10

Thanks! I'm still half-convinced that it's all a mistake at this stage, so getting an early scan will be very reassuring.

FourForMe · 03/04/2007 07:22

Well, tested yesterday. It seems I am pregnant again This will be my 4th...feeling slightly daunted at the prospect
