Shelley thats really lovely, hope baby girl no name has a name soon Smile

scout welcome Grin

different lovely birth story thank you for sharing Smile

Sorry for no more name checks, its the time of day! Haha

Apart from being a little sick last night i haven't had any more labour signs Sad tried all of the methods of bringing on labour too, think i might have scared labour off! Going to have pineapple and RLT for breakfast, but have read that you need to eat 6 pineapples for it to really work?! I dont think so!! Shock thank you all for the labour vibes but starting to doubt itll be anytime soon Sad even though i struggle to see how ill manage another potential 5 weeks!

Hoping the thread is quiet this morning because you're all enjoying lovely uninterrupted nights! Smile

TotallyEggFlipped · 30/06/2013 06:32

Trying to avoid resorting to internetting on my phone during the night as I think it makes getting back to sleep even less likely. Awake since 2:30!!! Was just drifting off again around 5 when DD came in saying she was wet & awake & refused to resettle. DH eventually have up & got up with her at 5:45 & I've been festering in bed.

I wish there was something productive I could do in the middle of the night that wouldn't disturb everyone else. I can't read in bed or use the kitchen or do any organising. I could go to the lounge & read/watch tv I suppose.

Today I am going to pack my hospital bag. No more procrastination.

VinegarDrinker · 30/06/2013 08:04

Morning folks. Lovely positive induction story different Grin

I slept through the night for the first time in weeks, so full of energy this morning and hoping this baby is going to get a move on, now. It's weird because we haven't made any plans for this weekend/week as we assumed we'd have a newborn by now! Anyway I've told her that today would be super-convenient for childcare for her big brother, what with it being the weekend... Not sure she's listening though Hmm

SlouchingPanda · 30/06/2013 08:10

MightBeMad how is your arm today? Perhaps you are made of sterner stuff than me, I just felt a bit feverish and off colour the day after. Hope you have a lovely day with your visitors though.

Totally - I am definitely going to pack my bag today as well. I managed to procrastinate yesterday by spending my time making rhubarb and strawberry jam, lasagne, bread, and a lovely octopus salad, but I don't think any of these things would be any use to me if I went into labour Wink so today is bag day. Not that there are any signs that JuniorPanda is in a hurry mind you...

Managed to sleep until 0630 today after such an exhausting day cooking yesterday (!) and looking forward to a scorcher - got my suncream on standby and my chair in the garden all set up. But first - the bag!

CitizenOscar · 30/06/2013 08:13

Waaaah! DS1 has chicken pox. Not the best timing but he seems happy even though getting spottier all the time. I've had it, so MWs confirmed nothing to worry about, but means we're stuck at home :(

At least it gives me something to think about other than waiting for baby! And we can play in the garden as it's sunny Smile

Lovely hearing birth stories although making me quite envious (not of the specifics but of you meeting your babies)!

Sorry for lack of personals - on phone.

dinkystinky · 30/06/2013 08:47

Lovely birth story Differentnow - thanks for sharing.

Vinegar - glad you finally got a good nights sleep - bet you feel like a whole different woman. We didnt have any plans for today but as its going to be a nice day we're going to pootle off to the Serpentine Lido today and maybe hit a playground or two on the way back.

Slouching - your cookingfest sounds lovely!

Citizen - oh no, poor DS1. Glad he's feeling ok. We found coolish oatmeal baths great for DS1 when he had the dreaded pox - virasoothe also good for popping on super itchy spots.

Grannyapple · 30/06/2013 08:47

totally & slouching I'm with you on the bag packing today too! I had it packed for over 3 wks by this stage last time! One more week of work left (woo hoo!) & hopefully horrid cough/chest infection is beginning to shift, so hoping to at least be a bit more more productive than I have been the past week (poor DH has had the brunt of chores & dealing with DS this past week).

Gorgeous day so might be lots of time in the garden today with DS me thinks!

Congrats to all the new arrivals! But just hit me today that tomorrow is 1st July.....scary!!

VinegarDrinker · 30/06/2013 08:55

Yep looks like a gorgeous day, doesn't it dinky - we're going to cycle up to Highgate Woods I think and catch up with my sis and her BF.

Had a lovely chilled park picnic yesterday for DS's godmother's 30th, was great as there were only a couple of kids there and lots of adults with energy and enthusiasm to run round after them while I sat in the shade drinking champers Grin We did cycle there (only a mile or two!) so I felt that justified doing nothing else all afternoon.

Andrea75 · 30/06/2013 09:29

Also a newbie, have been lurking a bit now and then - due July 18th with no.3. Have dd (nearly 6) and ds (4 in Oct) and am just getting round to posting something. Has been encouraging reading esp when pregnancy niggles have got me down. Have had a bad back but it has got better as I've been getting heavier (strange!!).
Now I am confined at home with ds who had adenoidectomy and grommets fitted on Thursday so it's 10 days with no contact with people (except family of course!!!).
Expect I'll have a bit more time to keep up with the thread from now (till baby makes his/her appearance).
Midwife convinced it is a boy due to heartrate...we didn't fine out at 20 week scan but has anyone else had experience of heartbeat being a sign of boy/girl?!

MarieKL · 30/06/2013 10:47

Hi to the Newbies.

Shelley so glad everything went well for you. Looking forward to hearing which name you choose. Like Dinky we still haven't decided. Should really get a move on though as I'm due tomorrow and have a sweep booked for tomorrow afternoon! For those who had sweeps in previous pg's would you mind sharing whether they worked and if so how long after?

Good luck to all those packing their bags. I have everything I need in a pile but can't seem to find an appropriate bag to put it in. At this rate I'm going to turn up on the labour ward with numerous carrier bags!

Citizen sorry to hear about the chickenpox. DS had it a few months back and we found a mousse from boots really helped and was easy to apply but no idea what it was called.

Different thank you for your birthing story. It's lovely to hear. Would love to hear everyone else's too.

I'm very envious of everyone in the South. It's overcast and breezy up here on the north coast of England, though I'm finding it quite pleasant. Not sure how I'll cope with the heat next week.

Dinky like you this is my last pregnancy and I'm treasuring these last few days or weeks of feeling our LO moving around but I'm too inpatient to feel sad. Absolutely no signs that labour will happen anytime soon though so looks like I'm going to go overdue.

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

dinkystinky · 30/06/2013 11:10

Welcome Andrea - pop yourself on the due date list when you have a moment. Vinegar - cycling up to Highgate Woods has to set your labour off - respect again!

Big belly4 posted on fb - she had a dd this morning around 7ish. Will update the outies list when on a pc again. Currently sunning myself at the lido while DH does paddling pool duty...

Andrea75 · 30/06/2013 11:23

How do I find the facebook page for July and join? Smile

esme80 · 30/06/2013 11:26

Hi everyone! Welcome everyone new!

Actually Andrea the whole heartrate thing has been true for mine. DS heartrate last pregnancy was under 140, and this one, a girl, is over. Obviously very scientific!

Fed up with pregnancy now. Had spicy noodles last night. Cant bring myself to eat a large amount of pineapple though, dont really like it. How much are you supposed to eat? Trying to get myself in the mood to dtd tonight, worked within 6 hours w ds.

Also have question re sweeps. My midwife offered me one either on thursday, day after Im due, or next thursday. She said they were recommended from 41 weeks really as had more effect then but if I want one earlier I can. Anyone have any experiences?

Andrea75 · 30/06/2013 11:36

esme80 thanks - it's been 130 and 125 at 34 and 36 week check, so may well be a boy. Either that or a very chilled out girl Wink

TotallyEggFlipped · 30/06/2013 12:35

Welcome, Andrea.

Slouching, your cooking fest sounds amazing.

No progress on the bag packing yet. I'll do it in a minute. After I've MNted a bit.

photographerlady · 30/06/2013 12:38

Andrea if you like to joking the Facebook group just PM me on here and I can temp add you to friends and invite you. It's filling up nicely with lots of baby photos :)

Thinkingof4 · 30/06/2013 13:07

Hi all
Thanks for sharing your birth stories Shelley and different lovely to hear!
Welcome to the newbies!!
And and congratulations to bigbelly!

Not doing any more personals as on phone
Re sweeps I've had loads over my first 3 pregnancies, didn't work with first two but did with third. With ds3 there was a student mw who did the sweep first, then the qualified mw did a proper one! So 2 in close succession but I lost my plug later that day and went into labour with about 48 hours of that. After sweeps I also ate curry and pineapple as well as dtd! I was doing some visualisation stuff in bed and my waters went so something amongst all that seemed to do the trick!
The sweeps themselves were varied in discomfort, I just did some deep breathing and it was fine really. But I think if it doesn't hurt it ain't gonna work!

A bit cloudy here today but we've been to park and then wee walk at the beach and ice-cream may have been consumed by all!! Really nice way to spend the morning, going to take it easy this afternoon though

Ps vinegar that sounds like it could be calm before the storm- hope your bag is packed!!

BB01 · 30/06/2013 15:08

Marking spot in hope that one day I'll be able to keep up!

Abzs · 30/06/2013 16:20

Pack your bags ladies! I am sitting in the hospital because Small has decided to disengage and turn shoulder first. I may be here until it shifts or needs shifted. Only came in for monitoring as it went quiet.

And it's a lovely sunny day and the Tour is on Sad

SlouchingPanda · 30/06/2013 16:51

I am packed! Hurrah!

Abzs hope all is ok and you escape back to the sunshine soon.

MightBeMad · 30/06/2013 17:24

Abz, hope all is okay with you and small and you get out soon.

Must finish packing bag. Must finish packing bag...

VinegarDrinker · 30/06/2013 18:29

Abz hope Small sorts him/herself out - head down vibes coming your way!

Well 12 more sweaty miles on the bike today, 6 up hill, with a toddler on the back, plenty of bumpy potholes but no sign of this baby wanting out! She is very determined to stay put by the look of things. Lovely picnic with my Mum, brother, sister and her BF though.

Thinkingof4 · 30/06/2013 18:45

abzs oh no disengaged!! I didn't even know that happened- have you been doing handstands or something? Keep bouncing as I'm sure that will do the trick. Fx you are home soon
