JollyPurpleGiant · 28/04/2013 13:32

I am not napping. Definitely not. Yawwwwn.

If I nap I won't be able to get to sleep tonight and I have a fairly early start tomorrow so sleep is necessary.

BabyHMummy · 28/04/2013 16:36

Haha jolly...have managed to avoid napping too by painting the ceiling in the porch and then doing the washing. My parents have kindly taken the dog for uber long walks with there 2 so she should sleep this evening

FoofFighter · 28/04/2013 17:19

Hip agony here

BabyHMummy · 28/04/2013 17:40

Awww foof...hugs Xxx. Mine is surprisingly ok today although was crying in pain last night. I will suffer for sure tomorrow though.

HV is due tomorrow afternoon so have blitzed the flat....we have issues with mildew in the hall and bathroom so dp has been on bleach duty all week to kill it...i have reprinted the ceiling in hall who that mould resistant dulux stuff so if it works he is on painting he bathroom duty next week!!!

Am having a rest before i stat trying to do the living room although mostly that is just our respective laptop that need hiding away and some paperwork to file.

Dp keep telling me i am mad and she really won't care if everything has been cleaned to without an inch of its life but i feel i need to make a good impression considering the mental health alert on my file for pnd and the fact she is likely to getttold to.do.one if she bleats on about "breast is best". After painting the ceiling my shoulder is buggered and am in pain now so chances are it will flare up when i have our daughter to carry about and car seat etc so am pretty much decided that ff is the answer.

FoofFighter · 28/04/2013 19:15

BabyH, yes they do undoubtedly runa sneaky eye over your place, but please please don't be thinking you need to be cleaning the arsing ceiling!!

BabyHMummy · 28/04/2013 23:04

Haha foof my lovely if you had seen what was growing on it you would understand!!! The council put a new front door in but never put heating or air bricks in the porchway so it gets really bad condensation and mildew as a result...the bathroom just has issues as i have out a mixed tap shower up and over winter it was too bloody cold to have he window open today it out ao had the same.

Porch ceiling is now clean and repainted which took all of 30 mins.

Been out of dinner with my bff and she has said the hv will be having a good nosey etc cos of the area we live in...it is bad in places for druggies etc so will be making sure we are not druggy scum. She had ot with her dc3 when she lived in a particularly undesirable part of our town but another friend who lived in posh bit and covered by the same surgery didn't have the visit. Sneaky buggers. The also said that the hv she had from there was a bf Nazi so to beware if i say am ff. Like to see her bloody try....she will be finding out the fastest way out of my flat if she tries it, am soooooo not in mood to be bullied this week!

RememberingMyPFEs · 29/04/2013 10:39

Good luck BabyH - hope she's swift and not too judgey-pants about ff Thanks

BabyHMummy · 29/04/2013 11:50

Cheers remembering me too!!

On the plus side i have my first physio appt on Wednesday on week after speaking to mw....result!!!

FoofFighter · 29/04/2013 12:29

Glad to hear you talking in this way babyH instead of worrying like last week, you tell em!!

Hip feels huge amounts better today, lets hope it was just a glitch and not the start of something :/

BabyHMummy · 29/04/2013 14:06

Cheers foof...am trying to keep anxiety under control but it isn't working and after a truly awful nights sleep and a tense discussion with work am feeling particularly uneasy and not too forceful today but dp is here so that is good.

My left hip has been murder since about 3am glad physio are seeing me fast!

Oh and she is late...great start

FoofFighter · 29/04/2013 16:00

let us now how you go, in my experience they are never on time, like MW home visits too!!

RuckAndRoll · 29/04/2013 16:19

BabyH hope it all goes ok. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. If a MW/Heath visitor saw our flat today they wouldn't be impressed - Disclaimer: It's only like this as we're having a proper gut and spring clean before painting the nursery, always makes things look worse temporarily!

Foof Glad your hip is feeling better. Friday for physio for me, had problems for years with my back so think I just need a new one Grin

DSIL was telling me to ignore any household comments made by them after she said had a visit at DMILs house during the bad snow (they were cut off so staying there for a few days). The midwife said they should seriously consider having their dog put down as 'it sounded very agressive'. It was shut in the utility room and garden the duration of the visit and was barking as her DH was playing with it at the time. She also advised MIL that cream was a very unsuitable colour carpet to have with grandchildren visiting. DH is looking forward to some random comments like this from ours so he can put them in their place if required!!

I was holding DN at the weekend and baby was giving her a big kick in the back. Cousins fighting already.

BabyHMummy · 29/04/2013 16:29

Thanks guys.

Hv has been and gone and was really lovely. She knew nothing of the pnd flag or anxiety etc and was really good about it all. Said she could understand why o feel like i do etc

No bf Nazi speech. I told her i was preparing to ff due to my shoulder and anxiety and she said fine no probs. Said if i feel diff at time i might try bf and had pump etc if i feel like trying but imo me being happy and healthy is better for baby that stressed and tearing my hair out and she agreed complete. Was quite a shock Tbh!

RuckAndRoll · 29/04/2013 17:21

Glad it went well BabyH

JollyPurpleGiant · 29/04/2013 17:44

That's good news BabyH :)

blondecat · 29/04/2013 20:56

BabyH, well done. Glad that went well

HV can be scary. With DD mine was so determined to diagnose PND she made me cry. Luckily not until after she left. And she clearly had a quota to meet for TB vaccines because she was really pushing one for 2 week old DD.

All well here. There is chickenpox and parvovirus (slapped cheek) going around local playgroups and nurseries but I had both and DD is vaccinated against the former.
DH still wants me to stay in and avoid all germ depositories, otherwise known as other children. DD is, of course, desperate to see them!

BabyHMummy · 29/04/2013 21:06

Thanks guys. I do feel a bit calmer after the visit although she did say that i might get some pressure from mws in hospital but she did say just stand your ground. You have clearly thought it thru etc which was nice.

blondecat men are funny souls aren't they! And i thought us girls were the ones who got all protective and irrational.

My dp had promised to cook me tea as i was helping at rainbows tonight but he fell asleep so it has cost him a takeaway lol

Stopsittingonyoursister · 29/04/2013 22:17

So glad the visit went well, BabyH. The HV sounds like she will be supportive of whatever decisions you make, which is a good thing.

Foof, glad your hip is feeling better.

Woofers · 30/04/2013 01:53

Baby h - yay about Hv visit. Boo about mildew. I also have damp areas in my house - down side to living in a barn. However, I may have misunderstood but are you doing the painting?? If so, please wear a mask etc. I have refused to paint as it can effect lung development (at some stage. Possibly after birth. I'm keeping to my guns though!)
Glad hips and pelvis' are being seen.
I'm getting regular flutters now.
Going back to gp for more sickness pills tho Hmm
22+4

blondecat · 30/04/2013 08:01

Quick question

Anyone experienced legs going numb? Had this strange episode last night. Not asleep just numb and v odd feeling preceded by lower back ache

JollyPurpleGiant · 30/04/2013 08:16

Were you lying on your back? Weight of baby could be squashing your blood vessels possibly?

RuckAndRoll · 30/04/2013 08:41

Were you o your back or side? I get dead legs if on my back and dead arms on my side, it's all glamour during pregnancy!

Ditsy79 · 30/04/2013 10:55

Blondecat - I also have numbness in the top of my left thigh. It doesn't generally cause me any problems, other than if I lay on my left side at night, the numbness turns to burning.
I've spoken to the GP and MW about it, and it is generally nothing to worry about - something to do with the uterus being pressed onto a nerve.
However, if your whole leg goes numb, gets swollen or hot etc , go straight to the docs or A+E to get it checked out and rule out DVT.
Hope that is some use to you.
26+0 today!

BabyHMummy · 30/04/2013 11:50

Woofers yeah it was me painting but due to my asthma i spent the extra and got the low oudor stuff and had the front door wide open...god bless freecycle and the free stairgate to contain the mutt!! The ceiling is less than 2m sq so was around paint for less than 30 mins in total.

Blondecat sounds like a trapped nerve...i have had similar but like the others said if gets worse or starts to get hot then ring Dr

blondecat · 30/04/2013 11:57

I was sitting on a rather low sofa. And it was both legs. All of them. It passed but it felt rather strange and a tad scary
