So will this one be our last before we move to post natal?

Thanks sarah & jojo for the thread title. :)

Congratulations, Rainbow, so glad everything went well for you.

The tiredness, plonko... How people without family and friends around do this is beyond me. Glad I've had the man and my sister here, would've cracked up already otherwise. Managed to sleep in her basket instead of on someone last night for the first time. And I managed to get some proper sleep (albeit not much) for the first time in a week. Thank god for swaddling and dummies! And thank god for SoYo posting about sleep issues five hours before I logged on in tears last night, so there was helpful advice right there waiting for me.

leni I had similar oozings early last week. Assumed it was just discharge too, but perhaps not, since I didn't notice any of the oozes I was expecting at all. Hopefully this means you're getting closer!

leniwhite · 13/03/2013 11:15

Gosh I feel for you all getting by on no sleep... Although I'll be joining your ranks shortly Shock

Hoping the 'oozings' (haha that made me chuckle!) are a sign, feeling a little less enraged today which is making my impatience more bearable.

Just got a beautiful rocker chair my stepdad sent us - it's a Concorde Rio with a gorgeous wooden rocker foot and it's just so well made compared to the crappy rickety one I bought before and ended up sending back. Who knew there were so many choices?!

I also realised after packing the recommended 3 sleepsuits that I only had two more so had to quickly buy ten more from Ebay - bargain Wink

Any more news to report from my still pregnant buddies today?

backwardpossom · 13/03/2013 15:13

Huge congratulations Rainbow, delighted for you x

pudtat · 13/03/2013 19:57

Nothing to report here, except that I collected my TENS machine from the MLU today. They let you borrow them, you just pay £6 for new pads each time and can keep it for around a month, which seems pretty reasonable to me. Does kind of make it seem real though...

Tomorrow must make progress on nursery. Got totally distracted helping my mum plan where stuff's going at their new house today, which was lovely but did mean I didn't tick much off the To Do List.

I do still have lovely feet though (pedi yesterday was lovely!). Grin

leniwhite · 14/03/2013 10:15

I'm not sure whether to get a tens machine - used one on my back once and it sort of just felt like I was having a fit! Have you tried it out Pud?

Had some tiny spotting in the night, not sure if it's remotely significant or not. Clutching at straws...

SoYo · 14/03/2013 10:21

I was very sceptical about a TENS but I found it really helpful. I think they're good as long asylu get them on very early, once the tightening a start. It got me to 5cm with that & paracetamol which I didn't think would happen.

leniwhite · 14/03/2013 11:10

Sounds good SoYo, that was years ago so I probably did it wrong...

christilass · 14/03/2013 11:29

Update ...

our beautiful son William Alexander 8lb1 arrived at 16.07pm on. Mothers Day :-)

Oodsigma · 14/03/2013 11:45

Congrats christi :)

pudtat · 14/03/2013 22:22

Ooh, congrats Christi - how very appropriate! Smile

Had to pick up antihistamenes today - apparently itchy stretch marks aren't just itchy stretch marks but are PEP (PUPPS in USA). Not a massive surprise as have suffered from urticaria to a greater or lesser extent most of my life, but a pain nonetheless. Hope they will ease the itch a bit over night. FX.

Ooh, and the curtains for the lounge arrived today, so have just watched telly in private for the first time in over a month! Grin (No, that isn't a euphemism Hmm).

StormyBrid · 15/03/2013 08:50

Maybe it should be a euphemism, pudtat - could get things moving!

Congratulations, christi! Very well timed.

theshooglypeg · 15/03/2013 09:29

41 weeks today and still not even a hint of a contraction or anything. Taking each day as it comes and trying not to get worked up about it - the constant enquiries from friends and family, though it is lovely that they are so excited, are not making this easy!

plonko · 15/03/2013 10:13

Congratulations, Christi!

Shoogly, you have my sympathy. My boy waited until 40+10 to get here and those ten days dragged on, and on, and on.... Already analysing every little twinge, trying every trick in the book to get things going, two failed sweeps, combined with the constant enquiries to see if he'd arrived, and people spouting bollocks about how I'd made such a lovely home for him - I found it tough. Only the threat of induction worked! Stay strong, you'll have your baby soon.

SoYo · 15/03/2013 10:49

Congratulations Christi! Hope you're home & enjoying newborn cuddles & surviving sleepless nights. Smile

leniwhite · 15/03/2013 12:21

Shoogly I really feel for you, are you having a sweep or is there an induction plan?

I actually though LO was coming last night - went to bed and started having pains in my lower back whilst LO was really bucking about and wiggling arms (which I haven't felt for weeks), also felt really nervous! Went off to sleep in the end after about 4 wees, but still have lower back pain on and off, hope he's working up to something Shock

FurryFox · 15/03/2013 12:32

Congratulations on all these scrummy new babies Smile

Fingers crossed this is the start of things for you leni.

Pudtat hope your itchiness is easing.

Shoogly I'm also 41 weeks today and nothing here either. I am a little frustrated but completely expected and induction is all booked for Wednesday, I'm just glad the end is in sight now Smile.

StealthToddler · 15/03/2013 20:27

Hi all
Not been on mn for a bit as just ridiculously busy finishing work and now enjoying a bit of mat leaves with my 3 ds before next one arrives.
Just wanted to say congrats to all the births and I am enjoying catching up on all your news whilst relaxing in the bath.
Am due on Sunday but last week was a bit exhausting and unfortunately tested positive for group B strep so 4th labour now likely to be most closely monitored of the lot and am told I need to stay in a minimum of 48 hrs after birth to monitor bsby. Not very happy as with ds3 I went home when he was 2 hrs old which was lovely. I know it's best for baby but will miss my big boys!!!

theshooglypeg · 16/03/2013 12:20

FurryFox we are obviously on the same timetable, I'm booked in for an induction on Wednesday too! Am hoping it doesn't come to that but suspect it will, there's no sign at all of this baby making a move of its own accord. So in a week we will have babies: eek!

KFFOREVER · 16/03/2013 14:39

Hi everyone.

I havent been on here for ages but just wanted to announce my baby boy was born 8th march weighing 7lb 2oz. Normal delivery with epidural. Its all overwhelming. Love him to bits but the tiredness is something else. Good luck to all those who have yet to meet their bambinos and congrats to those who already have.

pudtat · 16/03/2013 19:40

just to announce very proud mum of William Michael, born today at 1pm. 7lb 15.5 ounces - not bad for 38 plus 4. started at mlu with tens and water. after 1hr 45 mins pushing tsfd to hospital for ventouse delivery. he's gorgeous, if too sleepy to feed.

Oodsigma · 16/03/2013 19:45

Congrats KFF & pudtats Grin

leniwhite · 16/03/2013 21:51

Congrats kKf and Pud - my due date buddy has popped!

How'd you do that so quickly?!

leniwhite · 16/03/2013 21:54

Anyone left other than me Shock

StormyBrid · 17/03/2013 09:21

There must be some others left, surely. Maybe see if you can dig out the stats thread and check? And if you want a good rant about still being pregnant, I'm still here and listening during naptimes. Smile

leniwhite · 17/03/2013 10:54

Thanks Stormy Grin i know there are some booked inductions but couldn't see anyone who hasn't already announced a birth in the stats thread. Scary!! I guess everyone has moved on to the PN thread...

Once baby arrives I can imagine the last thing you want to talk about is being pregnant!
