I'm not one for fancy titles, but I see the last one is full, so here it is...

I remember my first, he 'flicked' me from the inside too. This one is swirls and somersaults. :)

Congrats Nicky! Im still here and hanging in. DD had massive tantrums yesterday so I took her to the supermarket with me so DH could study in peace. Had a headache all day and was super tired. I ended up having a 2hr nap while DD slept and another hour nap at 5pm. I still managed to pass out at 11pm and the dog woke me up at 7.30am this morning begging to be let out. Twas great to only get up once last night too.

NAR4 · 17/02/2013 17:50

Possibly tmi but just wanted a bit of advice re show. I have had (what I am sure is) a large show on Saturday morning and lots more since. It is just like jelly but there is no pinkness to it as lots of sites say there is when you have a show. Now I am bleeding a bit. It is bright red blood, but like I said, only a little bit. This is coming out seperate to any more show.

I have never gone into labour naturally before and never had a show (not that I noticed anyway). Can someone just tell me if this all sounds normal.

Thanks.

hildainstant · 17/02/2013 20:26

Hi Nar, I had clear jelly like discharge when my waters broke, but didn't have any 'typical' type show which looks a bit bloody like you describe.

If I were you I'd call the midwives on the delivery suite for some advice re the bleeding. They might want to have a look at you, but at least they'll be able to reassure you.

In my experience midwives would much rather you get their reassurance....don't think you're bothering them xxxx

Aldan · 17/02/2013 20:33

I had clear jelly last time too hope it's the start of things nar4

NAR4 · 18/02/2013 08:12

Thankyou ladies. I phoned the day assesment unit and they said that as long as it is only light bleeding then it will just be caused by my cervix dilating, which they said it must be in order for me to have had a show.

No labour pains yet though. Sad

Taking DSs clothes shopping this afternoon, so hoping that might start things off.

Also need to collect new moses basket, which I ordered on Saturday after DH finally got the one we had out of the loft (2 days past my due date) and found it was mouldy. [hmmm]

bopfactory · 18/02/2013 11:28

Hi ladies,

Just updating after a busy weekend! - Our baby girl arrived in the early hours of Friday morning after a fairly short labour - still in shock as we were sure we were having a boy!!!

So pleased though, we have two of each now and she is just gorgeous!!!

Congratulations to everyone else who's popped so far, and good luck to everyone else who's still waiting!

x

Want2bSupermum · 18/02/2013 11:52

Congrats bop. DH was convinced DD was a boy and that DS who I am now pregnant with was going to be a girl!

Mixxy · 18/02/2013 14:09

Congratulations bop! Sounds like your new baby girl could have quite a few male suitors to pick from Wink

Aldan · 18/02/2013 14:34

Congratulations bop GrinThanks

BoxOfMonkeys · 18/02/2013 15:02

Congratulations Bop and Nikki! How are things getting on for you NAR? Any more progressions? Panzee?

I was pacing around from 1am on Saturday morning until 5am, with period-like contractions coming every half hour. However, they never progressed and there's been nothing since. Tried everything now (including DH's homemade madras, which was so hot I had to eat it with yoghurt chasers) but I just don't feel he's ready yet still. Got another attempt at a sweep tomorrow at 2pm, so please all cross your fingers that I go into labour before then so don't have to have it. Even the thought of re-trying is making me cringe! With DD, I went into labour 7 days overdue, had her at 9 days overdue. Today is my 7th day overdue so my hope levels are - probably unwisely - rising again.

Panzee · 18/02/2013 15:36

Congratulations to all the new arrivals!

I'm still here, lots of Braxton Hicks but that's about all. Another sweep today, midwife said the cervix was miles away. If nothing happens by Thursday I'm having a section.

Good luck to all those waiting (including me!)

Aldan · 18/02/2013 20:35

Daft question but what's the difference between braxton hicks and contractions? Had a couple of what I thought were BH but I had to breathe through them???

Want2bSupermum · 19/02/2013 02:23

I was induced with DD. BH were tightenings that went over the top of the belly. Contractions for me were more like very strong muscular pains in your lower pelvic area. I wasn't able to think straight with a contraction while I could carry on with BH.

Hope that makes it clearer.... it is why so many women rush to the hospital for it to amount to nothing.

Aldan · 19/02/2013 02:54

Pretty sure it's just BH but getting lots of them and finding it hard to sleep. Just can't get comfy, everytime I move I get another...

Can87 · 19/02/2013 05:13

Wow great to see so many have met their little ones over the last few days! Congrats all.
Mine still seems to be staying put, booked in for a sweep on Wednesday which i'm not particularly looking forward to, but other than a few niggles nothings happening so i had better get used to the idea!

:) waking up at stupid hours in the morning is also starting to drive me insane, in prepared for it with a baby, just not yet. thank god for mumsnet!! Xxx

NAR4 · 19/02/2013 08:45

Congratulations Bop. Fingers crossed you go into labout before Thursday Panzee and Box anything happening as a result of your sweep?

I have a sweep tomorrow at 10.30am so really hope this one does the trick because they are booking my induction at the same time. Good luck to all you other ladies having sweeps done, I hope it produces a baby for you.

Want2bSupermum · 19/02/2013 20:23

Ended up having a sweep today as the dear doctor got me mixed up with someone else. When she examined me she had a go at manipulating the baby so his head would go into my pelvis and then did her worst. She said the good think about SPD is that it makes your pelvis a little more roomy!

I will tell you I screamed out in pain as my back was killing me. She asked me if I wanted to be induced and I told her 'hell no'. She then told me that I was 1cm dilated. Weather here is horrible so I went to the mall for walk around to see if things get moving. Nothing happened so had chocolate cake and coffee!

Mixxy · 20/02/2013 02:47

Hey Can! Doctor said the 'throbbing' or pulse-like twitches are probably the increased blood flow to the tummy, so essentially it's own pulse.

I have to go back and see her again on Thursday and Friday I have a non-stress test at the hospital. If they give me the choice between induction and an elective c-section, I'm taking the latter. Which will probably be for Monday. Hope you've got something moving down there.

How's the rest of us all doing?

irismom · 20/02/2013 09:42

NAR4 How did ur sweep go? any progress. BTW ur mosses basket incident made me think abt out situation. No names decided yet :( hopefully he will agree to something atlest during labour.
I am getting period like cramps (cant sleep/ walk)through out the nite and musucs like discharges- only at nites.. and kind of leaking too :( but nothing to be alert/ going into labour kind of.. Very uncomfortable though. I dnt remember any of this from my first one.. What about everyone??
want2besupermum Oh no!!! hope things will get moving sooon.. I wonder how do you walk around the shops and malls ; U super mom ;) I envy those who still can walk around and all that. I am house bound, more to the point, tied to bed/couch.
enough moaning for the day I think, sorry abt that..
Waiting for more arrivals!!!

Can87 · 20/02/2013 11:59

Thanks mixxy, my midwife said pretty much the same thing :)
Had a sweep done & apparently everything is pretty much ready to go, so just need to sit back and wait now.

Hopefully things will get moving soon, I'm definitly getting pains so fingers crossed! They won't induce me until the beginning of March so I'm hoping I don't need to wait that long to meet my LO.

Any update since the sweep NAR4? No names for us either irismom, we just can't agree. Xx
