sorry - not the best at thread naming, but thought we needed one as 100years said.

Hope you found out what was wrong 100years, and are getting treatment.

Had ongoing aches and pains all day but nothing in a contractiony way. Parents coming tonight instead of Saturday though which is good as can then relax about something getting going properly in the middle of the night, as they live about 4 hours away. And have a sweep on Monday, so if they plan to stay till Tuesday, I will at least know on Monday whether anything is dilating etc.

Oh cross post with china tea cup- congratulations and hope Charles is well ance home with you later.

tiddleypompom · 19/09/2011 12:39

Congratulations chinacup on the birth of Charles Buster - fabulous name, and a rather fabulous birth weight too! I'm not sure what your EDD was but would be interested to know? See you on the other side :)

millie of course - the good thing about virtual biccies is they don't run out! Plenty to go round and I think we all deserve to be pampered in these last few days. Friday is my EDD - I hope your day comes sooner, but if not that the sweep isn't too uncomfy and helps to move things along.

I'm not sure what to do with myself today so it might end up being quite a non-eventful 24 hours. loomer I hope yours sees some proper action :o

CBear6 · 19/09/2011 13:12

Congratulations Chinateacup, hope you'll all be home together soon. Impressive weight too!

DD went 11.30-6am so I got another round of sleep, I'm not sure how this has happened, just luck. DS was a natural sleeper, I used to have to wake him up to check he was ok but he never slept through until around 6 weeks. He was FF and she's BF, I honestly just think it's fluke though and no doubt I'll be back to sleepless nights soon.

Day 6 tomorrow so getting my bead removed and stitch pulled out. One end has got a string poking out of it, MW says this is what she'll be pulling out and she assures me I won't unravel. I'm hoping it'll feel less sharp once the stitch is out. I'm doing better again today but sitting/standing/rolling over make it feel like I'm being poked with something sharp. BFing is coming along well too, I had a wobble when my brother told me I don't know how much she's getting and is that not bad for her jaundice when feeding and daylight are what she needs to clear it up. DH is also in the bad books. My parents came to visit and he tried to send me to make the coffees then took a strop when I said no, he also had a whinge about me falling asleep on an afternoon.

Is anyone else really tired? I keep finding myself drifting off for a half hour or so around about 2pm-ish, I don't remember doing it after having DS but I literally can't keep my eyes open!

Jojo1983 · 19/09/2011 13:32

Afternoon ladies
Congratulations Chinateacup and anyone else I have forgotten.
EDD on Thursday getting abit more nervouse now but still hoping it will all happen sooner rather than later as feel so fat, tired, lazy all the time!
Went for a nice long walk around town on saturday and went to look at some nurseries with my sister for my nephew (I work in childcare so know what to look for) ended up with really bad pains in my leg come saturday night and that teamed up with heartburn for the last few days is making me very grumpy!
Got my other sister and neice and nephew visiting at the weekend so told my sister she can wait on me hand a foot lol
Hope everyone is doing well and still waving my pom poms... whos going to be next is the big question!

CosmicCloud · 19/09/2011 14:43

Congratulations chinateacup! Wow that's some weight! Shock Am hoping for a bit smaller than that but well done.

Tiddley no more signs here - boo! Am really trying to not get too focused on due date and I'm keeping hopes up for successful sweep tomorrow but the waiting is difficult.

Loomer sorry things seem to have stopped after those hopeful signs last night. Sending labour vibes to you.

Millie happy to have you join us in the waiting game. I'll have one of those Biscuit thanks, along with a raspberry leaf Brew. :)

Cbear wow on the sleep front! That's fab. Hope getting your stitch out tomorrow goes ok. Glad the BF is going well and try to ignore comments like those from your brother. You're doing great and as long as DD is producing enough in her nappies and starts to gain weight after the initial loss you know she's getting plenty milk. After the difficult first days establishing BF with DS I actually found the fact I didn't know how much he was getting quite liberating compared to some friends who FF and sometimes obsessed a little bit about how many oz their DC took compared to others.

Jojo hope things kick off for you soon.

Conker hope your sweep today was a success and you're now in the throes of labour. :)

100years · 19/09/2011 15:17

Congratulations china teacup, that's a really good weight, I was 10lb2 when born, I was expecting my LO to be closer to 10lb than she actually was, but can't imagine what it would be like to have a baby that weight.

My LO is growing well, from 6lb9 at birth to 7lb2 today (day 10) greedy little guzzler :) Great feeder really. found out the feeding frenzy in the evening is really common, and it's all to do with the milk produced at that time of day, so it's nice to know it's normal and so I will keep snoozing before I get to that time and have an easier evening when I'm not so tired.

Hope the rest of you are OK. Let's get some more babies out into the world :)

Conkertree · 19/09/2011 15:17

Hi. Just popping in for a quick catch up on how everyone is getting on.

Due date came and went. Sweep this morning - she said I am about 2cm dilated so could happen soon or could go on like this for a while yet. Had a fair bit of show etc after sweep, and the odd more painful tightning, but still doesnt look imminent. Think I just have to accept that I will have another late and long labour - could be worse obviously.

Will certainly join you all for a few more biscuits and a cup of tea.

Good to hear about all the newborns getting on well, and nobody sounding too frustrated at still waiting.

Hi sorry not posted for ages. Came home last night and had our first day at home - bliss :)
Currently lying on my side on the bed breast feeding so will try and catch up properly this evening. Want to write my birth experience down to help not forget and get head round.
So loving being a mum to Alys!!
Hope all well and little ones too but will catch up properly as only on phone now!!!!

CBear6 · 19/09/2011 19:35

Aw, welcome home Sebs and Alys :)

I think I've found the source of the tiredness (or the randomly passing out asleep a DH calls it). Sodding codeine, the hospital sent me home with it, two at a time four times a day. It might also explain why Amelia has been drowsy because what I've read on Google says it's not ideal for BFing.

ssmile · 19/09/2011 22:00

Is that for post section?codeine? I only got paracetmal &ibrupropen this time, took both round the clock till ran out hospital supply, bought some more ibruprophen by 2wks was down to one a day which I still take mainly have headache which builds as day goes on from tirdeness I think.
We registered our babe birth today and it was our wedding anniversary which we celebrated with breakfast out after we had done the birth reg :)

CBear6 · 19/09/2011 22:17

Yeah, the hospital sent me home with paracetamol and codeine and blood thinning injections. I'm giving baby formula for tonight until I can speak to the MW tomorrow morning about it because she's been really sleepy again and I'm skipping my bedtime codeine so I can feed her first thing in the morning.

Happy anniversary to you and Mr ssmile :)

ssmile · 19/09/2011 22:24

Yes I got fragmin injections too horrid things ended with bruises in both arms and thighs! Last time post sec I got dicofenic anti inflam drugs, the lady being discharged next to me got those but I didnt just ibprofen. I did ask why MW just said that what DR given you, despite having 2loads of lovely liquid morphine in hospital as normal stuff wasn't enough :) hope you can get your meds sorted for tom, the last thing you need to worry about is being in pain x

Alicebw · 20/09/2011 11:21

Hi everyone. Congratulations on all the new arrivals. So amazing! My due date is 26th so still playing the waiting game. Why is it that we can get through 8 and a half months no problem, but the last couple of weeks is such a drag! I think I'm going to go past my due date too as baby still hasn't dropped down. It's still digging up into my ribs! However, it was back to back and is now lateral so at least that's good news. It's starting to move round. I'm saying 'it's' as we don't know what we're having. I can't wait for that surprise moment when it pops out finally. Finding movement increasingly difficult now and I am so tired it's unbelievable. Does everyone get this tired at the end? I feel like I'm whinging a bit, but I'm just so ready for my little one I want something to happen. My bp has been up for a while now too, on tablets to bring it down so having to visit midwife twice a week for check ups. I'm glad they're watching out for me though.

I can't wait to start breastfeeding either - mainly to try and lose some weight lol! I've put on over four and a half stone somehow and feel totally disgusted with myself. How on earth can that happen. I haven't been overeating that much! My sister put on a lot of weight with her first too, so I wonder whether it runs in families. I hope so!

Ok, I'm going to try and cheer up now. What a grump I feel. Congratulations to everyone once again and good luck to those who haven't 'popped' yet. Sending out lots of labour vibes.

tiddleypompom · 20/09/2011 12:37

Hiya alice - your EDD is the date I had initially for mine (i.e. before dating scan according to LMP). As a result I am a bit fixated on the date and don't expect 'it' to arrive beforehand. Don't fret about your weight gain - a close friend of mine put on 4.5 stone whilst she was pregnant, had a very healthy baby and lost the weight within a few months. Certainly it is nothing to feel disgusted by!
I am also very tired and uncomfortable, though I am forcing myself to stay active and go on at least one walk a day - luckily I have avoided any serious pelvic pain and instead have a lot of pressure (baby is engaged). Not a very nice comparison but it is like being constipated! Anyway, suffice to say that I too am running out of 'happy face' patience and am starting to find it quite hard.
So - chicken soup for comfort and a sit down before my reflexology session. Fingers crossed that'll do something to shift this baby :)
Labour vibes sprinkled with abundance...

Milliebow · 20/09/2011 13:15

Hi Alice. I felt tired as anything until the weekend. Could have slept all day if indigestion and painful pubic bone would let me! Got more energy over weekend and nesting kicked in, at least for a day or so. The bp tablets they prescribe can make you tired if they are labetalol or similar.

Glad to hear you and alys are doing well sebs.

I have sweep booked for tomorrow. Can't say I'm looking forward to it. But I do wish this baby would get on her way. Think an afternoon of daytime tv raspberry leaf Brew and Biscuit are in order again.

CosmicCloud · 20/09/2011 16:20

Well still waiting here. Went for sweep this morning but baby quite well engaged and pushing cervix back. That combined with small MW hands meant she was unable to do the sweep so it's back to the waiting game and old wives tales methods of bringing on labour! Have consultant tomorrow to get a date booked for induction so they will attempt another sweep then. Really hoping I don't have to be induced though. Quick question to anyone who may have been induced and had a spontaneous labour. Was the induced labour more painful or a similar pain level to spontaneous labour?

100 years fab weight gain.

Conker 2cm and a show sounds promising. Hoping things start for you soon.

Sebs glad you're loving motherhood and looking forward to hearing your birth story when you get a chance.

Cbear did skipping the bedtime codeine help? What did MW say about it this morning?

Ssmile your day yesterday sounds lovely. Can't wait to be registering our little one's birth. Happy belated anniversary. :)

Alicebw I'm with you on being fed up waiting. The days really seem to be dragging now but keep trying to remind myself the end is in sight. Just hoping it's sooner rather than later!

Tiddley hope your reflexology session has the desired results.

Millie I'm here with you and the raspberry leaf Brew. Am drinking it alongside a big bowl of fresh pineapple. I know it will probably have no effect whatsoever but makes me feel a bit better and it can't do any harm. Going to have another bounce on my birth ball in a little while too.

WaspsAnkles · 20/09/2011 16:47

Only just got home from the hospital and happy to announce the arrival of our little Tristan Alexander. He surprised us with a spontaneous start to labour on Friday morning - three hours before planned induction - and finally arrived at 0.12 o'clock on Saturday (10th days overdue). Hard work and not quite as smoothly as I had hoped but at least not too traumatic.he weight almost 9 pounds and is 54 cm long.

Life is bliss and we can't stop smiling and cuddling.he is an expert drinker, teaching his mummy all the breastfeeding details but hates lying on back and changing happy. Has already managed to wee on dh three times in 4days :)

Longer story to follow more feeding and cuddling to be done.

tiddleypompom · 20/09/2011 16:59

Yay, congratulations wasps! You sound utterly blissed out and so should you :) So pleased for you that he decided to start things in his own time - I bet you couldn't believe it so close to your planned induction! Looking forward to hearing more, but meantime enjoy your cuddles...

Reflexology was very relaxing but baby still very much on the inside! Have been backing and made a lovely dinner for later, and now on my ball feeling a little bit sorrowful to not have my baby yet - cue predictions (based on nothing at all) that I'll be going 2 weeks over and give birth to an otter after all :(

p.s. otter was a dream during 2nd trimester, not sure where it came from but has become the embodiment of all birth fears!

cosmic and millie I really hope thing kick off for you both naturally very soon - no advice on inductions as ftm but I have read so many stories where inductions have led to perfectly straight forward labours without being any more painful than natural ones. Try not to worry - think about those cuddles :)

Jojo1983 · 20/09/2011 17:48

Hi ladies
congrats to Wasps on the birth of your little boy.
Lots of stomach pains and backache today coming in waves then dissapearing again could this be the start???
Got midwives @ the hospital on Thursday (Due date) so will play the waiting game until then.
Off to have a lovely dinner my mummy is making followed by a nice bath to help with the pains

sebs71 · 20/09/2011 19:01

Alys's birth story here... sorry guys, it's a long one...
I lost the mucus plug on Saturday night, followed by 3 nights of tightening ? but only happening during the night. At first, and rather naively, I thought things could be happening ? didn?t quite know the difference between a tightening and a contraction.

Then on Tuesday, I had a midwife appointment and had a ?brutal? sweep ? her words! She felt it could be effective and said I was about 1 ? 2 cm dilated, but more importantly cervix was very thin.
Midwife was right ? had a first contraction on the journey home! They started up again about 2pm that afternoon, and with DP in work in the afternoon, making the kids tea was fun! By the time he was home they were regular ? about every 5 minutes and lasting about 45 seconds so we called my Dad to come up to stay the night (to stay with DSS and DSD) in case we had to leave for hospital at any point.
We headed up to bed about 10ish, but contractions were now slowing in frequency. Phoned Labour Ward for advice ? she said to monitor and was sure they would start up again. They did, but about 15 minutes apart now. But, at about 5am I realised baby hadn?t moved for a while. Phoned Labour Ward again, was advised to do the old ice test ? which brought no results so phoned back, and at 6am left for the hospital.
As soon as we got there they put me on a fetal monitor, and heart beat strong! But... straight away contractions started every 5 minutes now, and lasting about 40 to 60 seconds! Thought things were really starting. After 20 minutes monitoring I was examined and they found me to be 4cm dilated now. I was advised to go for a walk, so we did. We headed for the hospital restaurant, but it was 8.15am and wasn?t opening till 8.30. So we walked some more, and then just as we were coming up the slope to the restaurant I felt this strange warm feeling between my legs ? waters had gone with a gush! So, embarrassingly headed did a strange walk back to labour ward, where they kept me in for a while.
Contractions were becoming erratic again, so they admitted me to the Ante Natal ward. All day I was on the TENS with the contractions and doing lots of walks. We frantically timed every contraction and every duration in between ? DP noting when I hit the boost button on the TENS to time the contraction!
Then... sciatica hit big style. I got a really bad pain on the left side of my back, shooting to my foot. So, each contraction coupled with the back pain was becoming harder to tolerate. As I?d been contracting, albeit not every 5 minutes, for over 24 hours now, it was becoming hard to bear and tiring. And, with it being a ward, I was aware that DP would have to go home 9pm. I was also aware that time was ticking on from my waters breaking and worrying about the consequence. I lost the plot a bit, and a midwife suggested a bath ? which I did. Afterwards, the night midwife explained that they would check me all night, and if contractions got into a regular pattern, then I?d go to labour ward, and DP would be called in. If not, I?d go in the morning and be started on synctocin to get things moving. After the bath and the chat I felt much calmer and was able to catch a bit of sleep, and one or two here.
In the morning DP came 8am, and we were expecting to go to Labour Ward soon, as it was now 24 hours since waters breaking, and at this hospital, they don?t let you go further than that without the synctocin drip. However, Labour Ward was manically busy and we didn?t actually get there till 4pm.
We were pleased to finally be back on Labour Ward. Once the drip was in contractions started, and came every 3 to 4 minutes, lasting a good minute or more. I soon ditched the TENS and went onto the gas and air. I was now in Active Labour ? at long last.
They wouldn?t do any internal exams as my waters had gone so didn?t want to introduce any risk of infection. So I didn?t know how dilated I was.
However, as I was so tired (contractions for 2 days now with sciatica and very little sleep) I asked for an Epidural ? didn?t really want one in my birth plan, but that had gone out of the window by now, and always said if it was going to go on, I?d have one. However, the Anaesthetist said with the sciatica it could make that pain worse. Midwife suggested Diamorphine instead, and explained how different it was to pethidine, which I really didn?t want.

So I gave the Diamorphine a try, and it worked well first time. Makes you quite spaced out. I remember talking jibberish in a ?Hey Man...? kind of way to DP and the Student Medical Doctor (Toby, who was in with us from time to time but missed the actual end event).

At one point, whilst shifting positing and standing up on the advice of the midwife (to ease the sciatica) the fetal heart rate dropped. Panic set in between DP and I (not that you?d know, we just gave each other ?that look?) and in the end, they put in the hooked monitor that attaches to the baby?s head. Heart rate went back up, thankfully, and carried on being ok.
I had two lots of diamorphine, the second lot being less effective. Towards the end of the effect of the second I felt really ill ? and threw up everything I?d eaten in the last 24 hours or so. Throwing up whilst contracting is not fun.
I was now finally internally examined, and by 11pm, was 6cm and very thin cervix... Yes, things are getting going! However, the baby had turned back to back... hence the sciatica. But, I now had the urge to push ? way before I should do. I was told every urge to resist ? which is pretty difficult.
I requested an Epidural ? I couldn?t see me labouring on much longer and having to push without extra pain relief. Expected to feel the lovely sensation of numbness... but after 20 minutes it was clear contractions were just as bad as before. The Anaesthetist came down with no explanation and gave me another dose and said things should improve in 20 minutes. He didn?t do any cold test on my legs or give any explanations... was not happy with his attitude.
20 minutes late¬r ? it was clear that the epidural had simply numbed the top of the womb ? so I couldn?t feel the start of the contractions. BUT, everything else was as painful as before- including my pelvic floor / cervix area which had great pressure on it, and was where the urge to push was targeting.
So, between 11pm Thursday night and 8am Friday morning, I had to suffer contractions and stop the urge to push every 3 minutes ? with no pain relief. I was exhausted. I gave up the gas and air ? it was pretty useless by now. I used the short breaths method that they tell you to use when the head is appearing and they want you to stop pushing. I had to hold DP?s hand, look directly into his eyes as he did the short breaths with me. I did them in time with the fetal monitor ? and the baby?s heart beat, and in my head I kept a mantra ?WILL NOT PUSH, WILL NOT PUSH?...

They examined me every 2 hours now, and by 6.30am Friday morning I was finally about 8 to 9 cm dilated ? but there was a ?lip? around the top of the cervix that wasn?t for budging.
The night midwife was going off about 7.45am and was doing her last exam of me at 7.30am. She was convinced she?d be able to give me the go ahead to push, and by the time she?d reach her car I?d have a babe in arms. However, the news wasn?t good. I was still 9cm, and the lip was not for going ? even the midwife had a go at it during the examination.
I was now losing the plot ? I couldn?t talk I was crying that much, and in agony. DP had to answer for me whenever asked a question.

Thankfully day staff were coming on duty. I was finally seen by the main Anaesthetist, who clearly was not happy with the epidural and the way it was handled but could do little about it.
Then I was seen by the Registrar ? a rather large handed six footer. Before he started he told them to give me the gas and air whilst he would examine me... I asked him to wait for the next contraction, then as soon as it was over, to go in...

OMG... he was brutal. He touched a nerve at one point that made my whole leg jump up.
But the results were not good ? still a lip, baby is back to back, the baby was big for me and with no epidural this was not going to be a fun delivery. He finally discussed options ? options plural for the first time. Option 1 ? an emergency C- Section or Option 2 ? carry on labouring, and we?ll try and control the pain. I was unbelievably tired, in so much pain and scared about the back to back and having to have forceps with no pain relief, that I begged for Option 1 ? never wanting a C-section before of course. He went out to discuss it with the Consultant, with me asking the midwife if they ever give the patient ?the say??
Then suddenly, loads of people kept coming in and out of the labour room. One HCA came with her razor and shaved my bikini line, and DP was handed gowns to put on... they were going with Option 1 ? FINALLY, it was going to end. I begged that the drip be stopped and it was...
I signed the papers sharpish, and was told by the Anaesthetist that I would be getting a Spinal this time ? I begged him to make sure it would work, and he gave me that knowing look and ensured me this time he?d make sure everything would be ok... he turned out to be brilliant, and when I look back, he gave me so much confidence to do this last, scary part.

I remember just about to be wheeled to Theatre and the HCA screaming ? ?Argh, get that nail varnish off her toes? and quickly wiping away the varnish in a haphazard way.
I was wheeled in, and there were so many in there. So much activity and suddenly, after being deprived of explanation since getting to the hospital 2 whole days earlier, the procedure was explained to me in great detail by really professional Theatre staff. The Spinal was put in - I was calmer by this point as the drip had been taken off. It?s the weirdest sensation ? your legs feeling really heavy and fat, no pain sensation or anything. Then it rising ...
I remember when they finished the Spinal, them explaining that my legs would start to feel tingly ? I looked down and shouted that something was wrong ? my toes were blood shot... then I remembered... it was the edges of the nail varnish!!! Oops...
It started and whilst feeling some really weird sensations, feeling pummelled, bashed about inside and tugged at ? but all with no pain ? within 5 short minutes I heard a baby cry... YES, my little girl was out and crying at precisely 9.59am weighing 7lb 12 ½ oz. The brilliant Anaesthetist gave me a running commentary.
She was cleaned up and checked and handed to DP ? she was GORGEOUS. He managed to get her cheek to cheek with me but couldn?t do the skin to skin. It took about another 20 odd minutes of being tugged and pushed and the Anaesthetist was able to tell me I had been sewn up...
I was wheeled to recovery ? DP and Alys Seren with me the whole time.
Finally, wheeled onto the one ward I?d be dreaming about being on ? POST NATAL (Lawson Tait). As I was wheeled into my new home for the next couple of days, my Dad suddenly appeared ? he?d decided to turn up and find out what was going on ? we hadn?t contacted anyone from about 5pm Thursday so everyone was worried sick.
And, I was finally handed my precious Alys Seren... after a journey that lasted 68 hours she was in my arms and so beautiful, and I?ve been besotted ever since.

sebs71 · 20/09/2011 19:06

Congratulations to everyone given birth so far... CBear on little Amelia Joan, and I agree with you on the spinal - weird feeling!! Louplet, Chinateacup and now Wasps - whey!!!! Well done all.

To all those still waiting or nearing due dates, Pom Poms still cheering you on!!!

Loving motherhood still, even though she is not sleeping in her moses basket - so very little sleep. And, DP had diarrhea and vomiting last night - so it's been me and Alys all day (although my dad doing his first grandad duties watching her whilst I had a shower). And the washing maching and dishwasher has packed up after a flood when I was in hospital...
despite all that ... Loving it!!!

Many congratulations on the birth of your baby boy Wasps. That's great you went into labour just before you went in to get induced. Gives me hope there's still plenty time for things to kick off spontaneously here.

Tiddley LOL at otter dream. Pregnancy does seem to cause some strange dreams! Thanks for advice and will definitely try to keep focusing on cuddles, however baby gets here.

Jojo it could be the start of things. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

Sebs thanks so much for sharing your birth story. Sounds like a very long journey and my goodness on having the urge to push for that length of time and having to stop yourself - I know how strong that urge is when it comes! Sounds like you're loving getting to know little Alys. Hope your DP is feeling better now and boo to washing machine and dishwasher packing up at such a time but at least you have lovely baby cuddles to make up for the inconvenience.

CBear6 · 20/09/2011 21:36

Congratulations conkertree!

Sebs, you went through the mill there didn't you? Obviously you're mad elf strong stuff and thankfully you finally got staff who looked after you and explained options, as well as a safe delivery. Congratulations again on your little girl :)

Amelia has been more alert today so I think it was definitely the codeine. The MW recommended I try cope with just the paracetamol and get some ibuprofen if I need it. She slept well again last night, up at 4:30 for a feed and then slept until 7 when DS woke up. I'm more awake without the codeine too, only passed out asleep once today instead of 2-3 times.

MW came and snipped the bead and pulled out the prolene string, it burned a little as she did it and she commented that it was very tight and digging in at each end. I had a bit of a mental block after it was out, I was worried I might pop open and everything would fall out :o

My milk has come in properly now and the baby blues along with it thanks to the change in hormones. Was getting off the bed after my shower and something twinged next to the incision, felt sharp like being cut and I had a panic but DH said everything looked fine. I then had a huge crying jag about "everything". DH has filled me full of chocolate and given me hugs so I feel better. Then I had a cry at the Great British Bake-Off when the profiteroles collapsed and, finally, DH made the mistake of telling me he was proud of me and thankful for the children I've given him. As a result we're now out of tissues and chocolate. I remember with DS I cried for ages when I dropped tuna in the sink while draining it.

Hope everyone is having a good night, little girl is chuntering away to herself so it's looking like it's feeding time soon and an excuse for lots of cuddles :)
