Mums-to-be in Somerset?

I'm actually in North Somerset, but was just wondering how many mums-to-be there are in my area. Perhaps we can share stories!

I'm due in August this year, very happy but also quite nervous!

And lastly, congrats to everyone who is a mum-to-be. :)

Toots I really wouldn't worry too much about weight gain. As an answer to your question though, I did put on quite a bit of weight in the first trimester. From the time I concieved to about 6 weeks, I only had the occasional bout of sickness and ate quite a lot of unhealthy food. Then between 8-14 weeks mainly I was really sick and threw up a couple of times, so I lost a bit of that weight I put on. Still, I went up a dress sizes nonetheless!

What Jimmijam said really, is correct. Especially during your first pregnancy I think, your breasts will grow by 2-3 (or 4 if you are unlucky/lucky!) cup sizes and then of course there is the bump, not being able to exercise as freely as before, etc. I've read in a few places that putting on between 2-4 stone is about normal?

I haven't given birth at musgrove, almost 32 weeks with my first child here. I'm planning on giving birth at St Michael's Hospital in Bristol, but I've heard their postnatal care is bad so I'm hoping it'll be somewhat all right. It is a bit worrying when the hospital is 30+ minutes away!

Hi,

I had a bit of a scare on Saturday night and ended up in A&E with possible ectopic pregnancy as was experiencing severe abdominal pains. They did lots of tests and scanned me. At the scan I saw a healthy baby with a heart beat in the uterus!

It turns out I have a urine infection which caused all the pain!!!

I'm so relieved and was really pleased to have an early scan and see that everything is ok.
