Pain under my bump - should I be phoning the hospital

I dont want to sound like a pain in the bum to the hospital but all day I have had pains in a couple of places today.
I'm 37 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my first baby.
The first set of pains I have had is in both sets of ribs, it hurts a lot to laugh / stretch / sneeze etc. I had assumed this is due to the fact that the baby is still quite high and maybe my ribs are in outrage!
The second pain is right underneath my bump, sort of at the top of my leg. This is just a niggling pain but is quite painful. Not frequent though.

I've had a few problems with high blood pressure and have been told to be aware of pains in my sides - but how do I know if it's to do with blood pressure / stretching pains or just the baby wriggling?

I hate bothering the hospital because I've been in twice for mointoring for the past six weeks. Plus I'm due there on Tuesday for the pre-op discussion (have a section scheduled for Oct as baby is breech).

Any advice? Should I try the hospital now / call the midwife tomorrow or wait to see the hospital on Tuesday?

The bump has been active today

it sounds like normal pregnancy aches and pains tbh!
could be baby moving down and pressing on things!

i would wait until tuesday

Well, I don't think you are being a pain by ringing them - a word with a midwife might put your mind at rest .

How are you feeling now Elf?

I'm sure Starlover is right and they are just normal late PG niggles. If you are comfortable then wait til you are due to be seen.

But as the pain is under your bump and the top of your legs, it might (just might) be very early labour niggles. Keep an eye on how often they come and if they start to come at regular intervals you might want to think about phoning someone

I hope you manage to get some sleep tonight. Don't worry too much about it, although I know thats easier said than done. Make sure you take things easy, If it is early labour you'll need all your energy!

Oh, and don't worry about bothering the hospital - thats what they are there for. Its their job to reassure you and look after you.

Take care Elf and let us know how things progress

I get pains under my bump all the time. It's mainly from sitting down lots and the pain is in the area that is trapped between bump and top of thighs. Try sitting forward hanging bump down but keep you tail bone down too iykwim. Turn dining room chair round the wrong way, straddle it, use cushion over back of chair for comfort, or buy a birthing ball to sit on.

Do what ever it takes to put your mind at rest but I'm convinced your fine. Pains and aches are normal and as I said I get a pain at least once a day.

Take some Paracetemol and a bath, see if it eases.

Thanks for all the advice. If I still have pains tomorrow I'll call to see if I can see the midwife, or else I'll wait til Tuesday and discuss at hospital appointment.

TBH it hurts most when I'm lying down and turn around. But bump is still wriggling away and so I'm happy as long as that's happenning!
