A tiny Tinker is here at last

After a sweep on Friday and angsting on here about being induced tonight, little Eliza arrived pretty much by herself on Saturday morning at 10.08 after a short and ouchy labour of 2.5 hours.

She's a dainty 6lb 13 oz but she felt a lot bigger at the time! Speed of exit meant I had to have some stitches and there was a bit of drama when the placenta didn't come out with the cord. But the thoughts - infection, operation, gangrene, etc - meant I managed to push it out by myself a little later.

Home by 18.00 that night in time for champagne (well, fizzy wine) and the Eurovision Song Contest. What a perfect day

Tinker, what brilliant news! Many congratulations on the birth of Eliza, so pleased for you all
Internet connection is moribund at home so will pick up mails tomorrow...
What did Eliza make of the Moldovan contribution I wonder - not to mention the hostess's LOUD delivery...

Thanks you so much everyone for all the lovely messages

All is still going very well, except the baby has night and day confused.

Thinking back, I did mean to mention that I now take back all I said on teh "Was childbirth your most painful experience?" thread. (I said 'no' )

Eldest daughter loves her sister but is a tad angry at me for having her [what do I do emoticon?]

But, all in all, it's all very fine and dandy and thank you all again
