...but she kept me waiting too! dd2 has arrived at last
sorry for being so lax posting but it's been a bit of a rollercoaster - everything fine though. Baby daughter (still no name @ 2 weeks old ) delivered by c-section on Tuesday 22 April at a bouncing 8lb 9.5 oz! went in for scheduled induction but v few weedy contractions even after waters broken for me. I never even got as far as drugs - needle went into the back of my hand and although I felt fine, my bp/pulse just dropped & they took me in for a crash section as the baby's heart slowed dangerously too. had to have a general anaesthetic which was the worst bit & vomited a bit on waking up. she's beautiful though and don't regret any of it. dh away for a week so parents looking after me & dd1. baby sleeping 5 hours at night and mastitis I thought I was getting seems to have subsided & I haven't had to start taking the antibiotics. nipples still bloody sore though, who'd have thought it after 2 yrs of bfeeding dd1??? anyway, she's gorgeous and I hope to be posting more soon, bundle x
ps thanks for all your kind thoughts, I've been thinking about you all especially percy

just wanted to thank you for all your kind words. nipples healing - the left one is actually pain-free feeding now
I've had a bit of a blockage in the other one & some redness but thanks to massaging, a mix of hot/cold flannels it seems to be subsiding without taking the antibiotics which I have on standby. baby bundle is feeding well (up to 4.55 kg yesterday when midwife discharged us) and going 4.5 hrs at night. ventured out with buggyboard (which fell off! had to rush back for screwdriver ) yesterday for first time and dd1 loved it. dd2 fell asleep - felt like a real mum, 2.4 kids & all that....
dh willl back today after a whole week away. boy have we missed him..
mears - will try to get some lasinoh today i think - been varying positions - lying down, rugby ball etc to get dd to drain the blocked bits & it seems to be working. had good support from midwives/la leche on the phone and seem (touch wood) to be through the worst
and well done lisac, fabulous news.
thinking of you percy...

I am fine ... (well apart from a little headache from that virtual party that was happening last night) ... thanks for asking ... but you are probably not online now ....
Glad you are enjoying DD2 and that you are sorting out the sore boobs etc ...

mears · 10/05/2003 09:33

Glad to hear things are improving. I loved going out with my toddler and new baby - know what you mean about feeling like a real mum

mears · 10/05/2003 09:33

I should have said going out first time - it isn't always so lovely..............

we've finally decided on a name - Lydia Grace (only took 3 weeks this time! ) and everything fine with us - she's thriving and I'm getting a reasonable amount of sleep. dd1 adores her and we're all pretty calm. thanks for all your support
