Had a rather short, very painful labour of around 45 minutes!
It was a planned homebirth, we rang the delivery suite who alerted midwives and said they'd be around 45mins to an hour to get to me, but to ring 999 if I needed to push before they got there (i didn't know this at the time)

well, baby wasn't going to wait around for anyone! I only just managed to get into the pool before the head started to crown and then he was out.

ambulance crew turned up several minutes later, followed by the midwives after another 5-10 mins!

I think I am still slightly in shock! He weighed in at a whopping 9lb 11 and is very, very beautiful. as yet nameless- all suggestions considered :D

Well done, and congratulations

How about Arvan - means fast, quick or swift!!

thisisyesterday · 12/06/2009 19:44

liking Arvan a lot actually! will put it to dp in a minute!

Dp was with me, but mostly talking to the ambulance operator person who I don't think actually realised how fast baby was coming until I started shouting that I could feel the head lol

I was most worried about whether the pool would fill in time for me to get in.
