Hello,
I was Kayzisexpecting but I've had him now!!

Dylan George was born Friday 12th December at 18:49. He was actually born on his due date!! I also got the homebirth I really wanted.

I had a show about 7 in the morning and contractions started pretty much straight away. I rang DH to get him to come home from worl and then rang the labour ward to get them to send a mw. She came about 9 and I was only 3-4cm when she examined me at 11. She went and did a fews jobs at the dr's surgery and came back at 12. By this time the contractions were getting more painful. She examined me at 2 and I was only 5cm. So we decided to wait a couple of hours and she would examine me again at 4. I was using my tens machine for pain relief and I don't know what I would have done without it.
When she examined me at 4 I was 6-7cm so we decided she would break my waters. The contractions got more painful almost straight away so I started using the gas and air. The second MW arrived at about quarter past 4.
I did want to be on all fours leaning on the sofa but when I did try that I found it really uncomfortable. So I ended up sat up against the sofa which was actually really good because between contractions I could rest my head on the sofa. They had to get a 3rd MW to get some more G&A as the pipe was broken so lots was leaking out.

Then at 20 past 6 I felt like I needed to push, the MW said to go with what my body was saying but I did need her to tell me to push. I just felt like I needed that instruction. At half 6 the gas and air ran out and I had to do all the pushing without it. I was only pushing for 34 minutes but it felt like hours. I got a small tear that didn't need stitching.

He weighs a huge 10lb 5oz and the MW thinks that his size is why it took longer than we were expecting.

I am so happy I got my homebirth. We weren't too sure about it and finally decided to go for it just 2 weeks ago. If you had asked me when the G&A ran out if I liked being at home I would have said no but now I wouldn't have it any other way.

I am still amazed at how big he is. DS1 was 7lb 2oz so it was a big jump.

BF isn't going to well yet but we're slowly getting there.
