Hi everyone, I just wanted to announce the birth of my beautiful girlie

Lusanne Frances
March 2nd, 8lbs 11ozs

Lusanne is a Dutch name, as my dh is dutch, you pronounce it to rhyme with Joanna.

I had to be induced because they found I had Cholestasis which can cause stillbirth in the last few weeks, so i went in at 38 weeks to be induced. i was really disappointed because I had been induced with ds and had a 36 hour labour which ended in lots of intervention and a huge episiotomy and loads of stitches.

But this time was SOOO different. I had the pessary at lunchtime, and by early evening was having mild but regular contractions, that didn't seem to be in any hurry to progress, so my dh went home to put ds to bed as ds was really poorly. Then at around 7pm the midwife examined me and did a sweep to keep things going. At 9pm I realised that things were hotting up, so I phoned dh to get him back, and we went up to delivery, she was born just 3 hours later at 11:50 pm.

It was an all natural labour, no pain relief (except for shouting, which works quite well!) and no episiotomy, no tears, and no stitches.

I am so delighted that it was so different to last time, and I feel ridiculously proud that I did it myself.

Thanks for all your lovely messages, I'm not getting much time to go online, but really enjoying my little one.

Just to answer your questions, yes we still live on the steppe in Kazakhstan, but are in England at the moment, we'll head back in May.

love steppemum
