Mark on sons face

Hello!

I had my beautiful baby boy Monday (on his due date 🩵)

Anyway when he was born he came out with this mark on his face, they said he has grazed and will go away within a few days, but it hasn't - any idea why? And will it go away?

You can see below in pic

Thanks
Em

Congratulations, he's beautiful!

It's hard to see closely on the app, but could this be a birthday mark? My son has a similar one on his neck.

Looks similar to my daughters when she was born. Strawberry kiss, I think they're called.
She's 2 now and hers reappears when she's really upset or if she's frustrated.

Congratulations, he's gorgeous!

@AnotherCountryMummy @kernowpicklepie ok thanks ladies!
He's so so lovely I'm in a bubble but just wondered if it will disappear- but its good to know it does! Quite big on his little face! Xx

Looks like a "stalk mark" - my DD has the same on her neck. It's quite faded now and only really comes up when she is crying. He's lovely - congratulations x

Whataretheodds · 01/09/2023 15:23

Congratulations! The first thing that stood out for me were his totally squishable cheeks. How cute!

VeloVixen · 01/09/2023 15:24

Looks like a stork mark, they will fade but can take months. Congratulations, he’s beautiful.

Potatomashed · 01/09/2023 15:24

He is such a cutey and amazingly punctual Definitely a stalk mark. Has he got a matching one at the nape of his neck? It is likely to fade over time

VeloVixen · 01/09/2023 15:24

If it is a graze (does the skin feel rough) again it will fade but could take a few weeks.

crunchymama · 01/09/2023 15:25

Looks like a stork mark to me! Apparently it's where the stork bites the baby 😂 my son had one, forehead and back of neck.

He's 11 now and it only appears if he's done exercise or been crying

marshmallowfinder · 01/09/2023 15:25

Salmon patch birthmark. Not a graze at all. They usually disappear. Congratulations!

ohsoso · 01/09/2023 15:26

What a cutie! I’d say stork mark too - my DC had a similar mark and it completely faded after a couple of months.

Toddlerteaplease · 01/09/2023 15:27

He is an absolute squidge! Congratulations

emlouba · 01/09/2023 15:27

Thank you so much everyone!

Honestly he is so perfect and his cheeks are so chubby! Love him so much. He weighed 9lbs 7 so a little chunk 🥰

Ok I thought it may be a strawberry kiss or stalk bite ☺️ my daughter has one on back of her neck!

Bless him 🩵

He's gorgeous! Congratulations.
I'd say it was a stalk mark too. Dd had one on her forehead. As others have said it fades but can reappear for quite a few years when his/her face gets red (usually crying).

TheRookieMum · 01/09/2023 15:32

What a cutie! Congratulations!

Another stork mark vote from me. My DS had them on his face very similarly to yours. For my DS, the bits around the eyes faded a while ago. And at 11 months, there's only a small amount left visible between his eyebrows which gets redder when he's crying. The one at the nap of his neck is still quite strong. I'm told it might still fade, or it'll eventually be covered by hair.

WeWereInParis · 01/09/2023 15:43

My DD had a stork mark that looked similar, and one on the back of her neck. She's 15 months now and the one on her face has gone (but it stayed for quite a long time), and she still has the one on her neck.

Stork! From the large bird that carries newborns. (Not stalk.)

CorylusAgain · 01/09/2023 17:08

🤣 I wrote stalk instead of stork too despite knowing full well the origins 🤦‍♂️

rebecca100 · 01/09/2023 17:13

My son has this in exactly the same place, I wondered what it was too x

AllTheWatersTurnedToClouds · 01/09/2023 17:16

I have that - in the shape of a tick. Mum used to call it my quality control pass mark Grin
it faded a lot when i was a baby and only comes up now if i'm hot or cross.

LightSpeeds · 01/09/2023 17:21

Stork marks! Mind had them too... They completely disappear eventually.

emlouba · 01/09/2023 19:18

Aww thanks everyone! 🥰

Someone I know had a child and had a mark like this, but to give you reassurance it did go eventually. Congratulations!
