Proving all old wives tales about gender-prediction to be a load of old rubbish, our gorgeous girl, Abigail Charlotte, made her appearance at 7.53pm on Monday 29th November. She is absolutely perfect and we all love her to bits.

Here is the gory stuff for those who are interested. ...

After a sweep on Sunday I woke on Monday with contractions every 10 minutes. We went to hospital around 3.00 when they were getting quite painful. Midwife-from-hell examined me and told me to go home as I wasnt in labour but by the time I had reached the car the contractions were coming every 5 minutes and were bloody uncomfortalbe. After an hour staggering around the hospital we returned to Maternity and begged her not to send me home again. She examined me, said I was 3 cms dilated and reluctantly agreed to call the anaethetist for an epidural. By the time he got to me I was having contactions every 2-3 minutes, lasting a minute and they were agony. After 40 horrific minutes of me sitting perfectly still with the anaetetist fiddling around in my spine he apologised and told me the epidural might not work. As soon as I was able to move I screamed that the baby was coming and mw from hell told me I had ages to go yet but she examined me anyway, declared I was 10 cms and ready to push so I did with all my might and Abigail came out 10 minutes later. I am stunned a coward like me did it without pain relief!

Off to bed nowXXX

Many many congratulations bunny! I didn't get my epidural either, ended up pushing him out with no pain relief at all because they took my gas and air away as I was too high on it!

Hope you are enjoying life as a family of 4 as much as we are .
