Egg's Twin Mini Eggs Have Arrived Safely

Woohooo am back online after four days in hospital.

So for those of you who wanted the looong birth story, here goes.

Thursday 10 January, got up about 7:30am when DS woke up, felt fine, then about 8:15am I thought I had a mild contraction but as it was nothing like I had last time I thought it was braxton hicks. Had a few more a few mins apart and thought something might be going on. Decided to get DS to nursery asap in case I was in labour so he would be out of the way all day, so got him ready and walked over to drop him off at 9am.

Told them at nursery that I felt a bit odd and that things might be happening.

Walked home again, decided to have a bath, was running the bath and then found I had a bit of blood, so realised things probably were happening.

Called DH (who was 2 hours away at work), called labour ward, who told me to come in, called a taxi. Still was not 100% sure and told the taxi driver he was quite safe.

Arrived at hospital about 10am. Midwife took me to a room and left me to it as it was very busy. About 11am they examined me and I was fully dilated with head ready to come out. Waters not broken yet. Last time with DS once they broke my waters he was out within 20 mins, so was begging them to break them this time but they needed me to be in theatre to give birth because of the risk of needing a c-section and it was still being cleaned.

DH arrived about 11:15am, and then about 11:45 they finally wheeled me to theatre. Was very much utilising the gas and air but in huuuuuuuuuuuuge pain. They broke my waters and 5 mins later my little daughter Rebecca was born at 12:12pm, weighing 4lbs 11oz. 25 mins later my little son Jacob was born, with a bit of help from the ventouse as his heartrate had dropped, weighing 5lbs 4 oz.

I feel very proud .

Official congratulations and welcome to Rebecca and Jacob!!

Am soo impressed that someone can reach full dilation with so little pain!! That's one fully functioning cervix you have there (unlike mine!!)

I look forward to charting the progress of our little ones in the months to come!

Don't worry, the pain later on made up for it, but i have thanked my mum for her good birthing genes, and told Rebecca she is a lucky girl, but that she wont need her birthing genes until age 26 at least as she wont be having sex until age 25 at least .

My sis managed to give birth to three children with very few contractions at all.
