im so pleased to finally be able to announce properly that ive popped!!

went into hospital on the 13th sept with contractions.got examined and the little learner doctor said i wasnt in labour and everythng was fine.they kept me in as i kept getting strong contractions every 10 mins, but still they said all was ok.on the 15th sept i was monitored all day constantly as not only was i still egtting contractions, but babys heartrate wasnt doing the usual up and down thing, and stayed really flat all day.
finally at around 6pm they decided taht i needed to go onto the labour ward, and after being there about half an hour, the labour ward sister told the doctors that tehy needed to deliver the baby as her heartrate was still the same.

i was taken to theatre, and given a spinal block, but it didnt work properly!i could feel everything on the right hand side.they wanted to put me to sleep but i wanted to stay awake to see my baby.

scarlette grace was born at 8.05pm and weighed 5lb 11oz.after they ahd delivered her,i started feeling sick, mainly because of all the pain i could feel.i started heaving and managed to make my intestines and bowel pop out!!the docs and nurses kept telling dh to sit down (he didnt even notice what had happened!) but they eventually took him out to see the paediatricians.i was then put to sleep and they put everything back where it belonged!!i was in theatre for a couple of hours, and when i came round i couldnt stop shaking!!i was freezing,so had loads of blankets piled on me!!

scarlette was taken to scbu, and i didnt get to see her until the following day.that same day she was taken by blue light ambulance to alder hey hospital as they had xrayed and found that she had a blocked bowel.

they wouldnt transfer me to the liverpool womens hospital because of the probs with teh cs.dh went with her,and i was totally heartbroken taht i couldnt be with her.
on the 18th i had to have a blood transfusion and again on the 19th.
dh rang on teh 19th and said that they were operating on scarlette,so i asked to be discharged (if they had rfused i wouldve discharged myself anyway!!)

i went back home to the kids, and was tearing myself apart because i wanted to be with scarlette but at teh same time my other kids needed me.
scarlette had her op and they removed half a foot of her bowel as it had twisted and died.
i went upto alder hey the following day and took alyssa with me,and we finally got teh all clear to bring scarlette home exactly a month after she was frst admitted there.

its been a very long 4 weeks, and there have been soooooo many tears!!but we are finally hoem and im enjoying my baby!!

she was also diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, which was another blow, but were dealing with it.(alyssa also has cf so its not something new to us)

she was weighed on monday and was 6lb 13oz,and she'll be weighed every week now to make sure shes ok.

anyway, thats my looooooong birth story for you!!

just want to say thank you to everyone on the oct thread for being there for me when i was pg and had a good moan!!!!youre all fab and i hope you all have very good babies that sleep all night for you!!(otherwise we'll all be on mn moaning about not sleeping!!!)

bagpuss, alder hey are brilliant, tehy were all so lovely to us when we were there and really looked aftr scarlette well.

meandmy,we got told that the meconium ileus is really common in cf babies,we were jsut really lucky that alyssa didnt have it when she was born.she was diagnosed hwen she was 6 weeks old,and has never had any probs with her bowel.so when all this happened it was just such a shock.

lulu it is a long way isnt it!!but im coming back at xmas to do my xmas shopping!!!your shops there are fab!!!(love the big asda at huyton!!!wow!!)
