Gender Reveal during Lockdown

Hello all, tomorrow my partner has her 20 week scan and we plan on finding out the gender.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to reveal this to family and friends during Lockdown?

How dare you assume the babies gender, bigot 😅

FamilyOfAliens · 08/04/2020 21:11

@YorkshirePud1

What a shocking waste of food. Especially for something that no one else but the parents cares less about.

Winifredgoose · 08/04/2020 21:12

My vote is also for a phone call .

Reversiblesequinsforadults · 08/04/2020 21:13

I hate gender reveals. They offend my feminist sensibilities.

nellythenarwhal · 08/04/2020 21:14

Your friends and family won't care if it's Male/female/sonographer got it wrong.

I think that the only person who will care (apart from the parents) is the baby's siblings.

nellythenarwhal · 08/04/2020 21:15

"Won't care " meaning equally happy with each outcome not that they won't care about the baby.

AdriannaP · 08/04/2020 21:15

Please just text people. Gender reveals are tacky and so OTT. Nobody in real life thinks they are classy or cute.

GaaaaarlicBread · 08/04/2020 21:18

Hey sorry you’ve had such A shit response off some people . Congratulations on your partners pregnancy and all the best for the scan, I have my 20 week one tomorrow but we found out the gender at a 16 week gender scan. My family didn’t want to know as they want a surprise but my husbands parents really wanted to know so we face timed them, and asked them to guess, and then we said ‘you are have a Grand....’ and then held up some pink baby slippers and a dress and they screamed with excitement yelling ‘GRANDDAUGHTER!’ It was so cute. So much joy ! So nothing full on but it really made their day/week/month ! X

My friends really wanted me to do a gender reveal.

As long as the colour was green and I told everyone I was having a dinosaur.

Didn't do it, would have been fun though.

twinkle2306 · 08/04/2020 21:18

Ohhh good luck with the scan. Could you do it in sign language or morse code send them an alphabet sign language sheet and do it in front of the camera.
Or put a blue or pink top on under a coat or hoodie or write girl or boy on your shirts and put coats on and unzip them slowly!

Useryokyesno · 08/04/2020 21:23

Gender reveals are the worst, so basic and tacky. Just tell them.

joydivisionovengloves71 · 08/04/2020 21:34

@4amWitchingHour that would have been so funny!

stopandListen · 08/04/2020 21:37

Just text or call, the most important factor of a 20 wk scan is the health of the baby not the sex!

Or be really out there, wacky and original and keep it as a surprise 🤣

Russ93 · 08/04/2020 21:37

@GaaaaalricBread and @Twinkle2306 Thank you and love your ideas I'll share them with my partner

Please come back and let us know what she’s having tomorrow ! X

JudgeRindersMinder · 08/04/2020 21:48

I did this really mental thing of waiting till the babies were born...

Positevibes · 08/04/2020 21:56

@Raera 😂😂 excellent (piss on his chips)

joydivisionovengloves71 · 08/04/2020 22:17

We'll all say 'yaaay' if it's a girl and 'yaaay' it's a boy. Really hope it's a dinosaur though...

Voice0fReason · 08/04/2020 22:39

Just tell people the sex - gender reveals are always cringey and awful.
The joy is the fact that you are expecting a baby and the scan showed everything is fine.

Cherrychops100 · 08/04/2020 22:48

Hey, I've got my 20 week scan tomorrow too and I'm going to be finding out the gender, will you let us know what you're having? Grin

Abbyd222 · 08/04/2020 23:22

Literally only been on mn a few months and slowly realising most of you are brutal miserable dicks, never seen so many nasty women in my life🤣🤣 guarantee most unpleasant in comments are cuming from older women aswell. Just no need for it if you can't answer someone's question in a nice or constructive way then just move on. It's really quite sad tbh.
Op hope your gender reveal goes really well and I'm sure your family and friends do care and will be excited with you! I'm pregnant with my third and I just got told with my first two so with my third i decided to get a balloon and do it with my partner and kids! Just us no one else not a bit deal but was so amazing to find out like that and it is a lovely memory engraved in all our minds so don't get put off by others

joydivisionovengloves71 · 09/04/2020 08:06

How do you know they are older women? My sister had a baby in her 40s and would have loved to have done it.

SuziGeo · 09/04/2020 08:13

I would double check that your family/friends want to know the baby's sex in advance. My husband's family all wanted to know but my family were split so we only told the ones that wanted. I live abroad so in the end I sent letters to my parents, grandparents and sister and inside each was a little envelope with the sex inside. Then those that wanted to look could look. For friends/extended family it was also mixed, some wanted to know and some wanted a surprise. So I don't think a big reveal would have worked for us.

Eminybob · 09/04/2020 08:18

Good luck with your anomaly scan. I hope all is well and your baby is healthy Flowers

Russ93 · 09/04/2020 21:17

It's a ..... Girl!! Baby and mother are both healthy.

Thanks All
