hi guys thanks for sticking with me, i know it's been a couple of weeks since i had ds but i thought i'd give the gory's, so here we go, some of you may remember my hubby posting that i was in labour on 17th march, AND I WAS (thank god - 8 days over cooked), the pains started at about 5pm on Sat 17th, i could deffinatly tell between real labour and bh so that was good, by about 11pm i felt wiped out but contractions getting stronger and closer together so i thought while i could handle it i would try to sleep so i had one last drink and then bed but when i layed down they got worse so i left dh in bed and went back down stairs, by 2pm they were alot worse so i took some codine and got in bath, i tried to time contractions and they were every 10 mins but bloody painful, (i was on my knees - the contractions in my back), i finaly rung labour ward and because i have a VSD (heart condition) they asked me to make my way through to the hospital in the next couple of hours for monitoring and IV antibiotics, at 3.30am 18th march (mothers day) i got dh out of bed and told him this was it he was fantastic, but i couldn't pull myself off the back of the sofa lol i was hugging it like a mad woman, my hubby posted on mn just before we left for the hospital.
When we got to the hospital i was monitored for 10 mins and they found me at 5cm di, so i could be in for a bit of a wait, the pain was getting a bit bad so they gave me gas and air (fabulous stuff - i was floating) it gave me what i needed to cope with the pain for the next 4hrs, they had put me on a mobile moitor and told me labour may be hard because baby was back to back and that was why i was in pain so much in my back and bum but i perservered with just gas and air, but at 9.45 baby's heartbeat dropped to between 50-60 bpm and DID NOT RISE so they brought a doctor through and said baby was not fairing well and i might need and emergency c-section which i DID NOT want so they said we will give you 10 mins if it's not corrected we will need to section your baby.
10 mins passed with no change so i finally aggreed to the section (cry cry cry wail cry).
At 10.30am on Mothersday i got my 7lb 5oz ds (after 4yrs of trying), i lost quite alot of blood and the doctor advised me to have 2 units of blood but i refused, i knew i could cope with just iron tablets and rest, i felt like i had been interfered with too much and wanted to get back to natures way again, but we are all doing great now and ds is doing absolutly fabulous. goo #d luck to all who are waiting their bundle of joy.
