FINALLY! After contractions running through Weds night, Thurs day, Thursday night and being told I was not in labour because I was 2 cms for 24 hours, Niamh Mae was born on Friday 28 May at 16.41. Beautiful baby girl. Delivered by Ventouse and a whole load of drugs - the lot!

Posteriour birth was definitely the problem and stopped dilation but pains were very difficult and prolonged. After gas and air, pethidine, epidural, oxytocin and avoiding a caesarean at last minute, all was well.

Will write more later as have had virtually no sleep all week and Niamh has just started crying again after falling asleep for the first time since yesterday afternoon!!! nightmare

webmum · 03/06/2004 14:04

Egypt

congratulations first of all, and yes it is ok to breastfeed her while bleeding, I was shocked by it (musta dmit was more worried about my nipples than dd) but midwife said absolutely not to worry about it, it would do her no harm.

mears · 03/06/2004 14:32

Blood in milk is OK Egypt, but you need to correct reason why it is there. Is she not latched properly causing nipple damage? Are you getting help?

kbaby · 04/06/2004 21:56

well done and congrats egypt, see you on the may thread
