Another gem for Gem13...

DD (!) was born by elective (ADVISED! - I have to shout it as the consultant said it was the best option but the hospital has printed 'maternal request' over everything...) Caesarean on Friday 13 February.

She is absolutely gorgeous with a mass of dark, curly hair and fat cheeks. She weighed in at 8'3 but seems petite as her brother was 9'11.

The section was fine, exciting even, and I spent Friday getting to know her which was lovely. One of the perks of the birth was not feeling so drained and exhausted.

Got thrown out of the hospital less than 48 hours later as they wanted the bed which seemed a bit soon as everything is still very tender. Lovely to be home with DH and DS (who is taking everything in his stride) but trying hard to rest and recover.

Thanks to everyone for their help answering my questions about C-sections and their queries on how it all went on Friday.

Congrats Gem13, hope you are both well
Very shocked at your speedy discharge though. I have had 3 sections and wouldn't of been pleased if i had been discharged that quickly.

please don't do too much.....in fact don't do anything.....

Do midwives still visit for 10 after baby's birth when you get home? Is that the norm in entire England or the UK?
