Baby Bear's arrived

Baby Bear (name tbc) put in an appearance just before 5 on Saturday morning - after a 3 day labour and two false-start trips to the delivery suite. DW was marvellous throughout and managed on just tens and entonox (with a quick shot of pethidine to hurry things along towards the end). Bear is proud as punch and dd seems pleased with her new brother, but we won't be leaving her alone with him for a while yet. Time to put that expensive NZ buggy to the test!

Thanks everyone - we are genuinely overwhelmed and touched by the response to this thread. DS is a handsome little fella. He's placid and proving resilient to his big sister's increasingly vigorous patting and stroking. He's been out a couple of times in his Explorer and gone off to sleep by the time we reach the end of the street and stayed asleep until he's back inside the house again. Top marks for the buggy so far then. Although, that said, he is still relatively nocturnal which might have something to do with it.

Thanks again everyone.
