For some reason I can't post on my other thread. Right, to put everyone in the picture. Max was born and everything was lovely. We all done gelling & bonding in the hosp and came home and I have to say I have been walking on air all week. Can't watch tv, read newspapers etc, can't concentrate, all I can think of is max max max. he is so squidgy & lovely, Just wanna eat 'im
In the meantime on Day 6, midwife came to take out my stitches at about 2pm. Early evening I stood up and felt warmth flood my nether regions & tummy. My first thought was that the baby had peed on me, but then I realised that there was far too much fluid, I looked down and there was blood/water all down the front of my nightie. That was it.........I shrieked! We had friends round (thank god) DH came flying up the stairs and took one look and we had to leave the baby here and go to the hosp. God I have never been so scared in my life. Anyway at the hospital they were very calm and assured me that my intestines hadn't fallen into my knickers (I was convinced) and that the first few layers of my wound had opened and lots of serous fluid (!) had come out. It had been building up and the pressure just forced it out. It was a good thing really as if my scar had healed over, the fluid would've festered and I would have got infected and been in real pain. The hosp wanted me to stay in but I wouldn't as I wanted to get home to Max. Since then it has opened 4 times and it's awful. I don't go into hospital though, I just have to keep having salt baths and changing the dressing. Oh and I have loads of antibiotics to stop me getting infected. It has really set me back. I am afraid that the baby blues came last night and I sobbed all the way through Eastenders. It is prolonging my recovery. I think that the 'babymoon' has ended even though I think that Max is the best thing since...er....the bestest thing.
