Still v tired for full story but here goes....

I got induced.

Basically they started me off on friday at 6pm, at midnight no change, long thick cervix, at 6am saturday i was 2 cm, they broke my waters at 2pm, unfortunately my waters were full of blood so there was big panic and i was continuously monitored - the pains started and were fine until 8pm when they became strong, it was presumed i would still only be 2-3 because of slow progress but then i was checked at 10pm and i was fully dialated!!! i started pushing but babies heartbeat dipping big time after each contraction so they had to take a sample of blood from his head to test as he was in distress, at this point doctors tried twice to manually move him (put hands inside me and try and twist baby round) he moved only to flip back round with each push!! At this point, epidural was put in and consent form signed for cesearean, they took me round to theatre but ended up getting him out with ventouse cap because when i pushed he started to come down they just needed the cap to flip him round. He was fine when he was born and i had second degree tear but they didnt cut me which i was very pleased about. Next morning they realised my bladder had been damaged from the traumatic delivery and when i was scanned it was distended but id lost all sensation in it - i was catheterised til this morning, they took it out and i have to go for a wee every 3 hours on the dot until the "tone" comes back which is envisaged after a few days for trauma to heal. It was awful the catheter bag filled with blood a couple of times so bladder must be pretty buggered!!

Thats it!!! Horrendous tale I know but all worth it.

He was 8lb 7oz.

Im really pleased that he is breastfeeding too, i never got this far with meg so fingers crossed.

Beccaroll, sorry you had such a tough time (sounds like my 2nd labour actually - right down to the taking a week to pee properly - SO frustrating!)but delighted by the safe arrival of Harvey. Excellent name!
We need to start a September babies thread now.... and then we can swap sore nipple stories!
