Just heard that a dear friend died this morning after a long illness. She and I are both Christians and I KNOW she has gone home but I can't stop crying at the moment. My heart is so heavy - for her family, her husband. It doesn't matter how much you were expecting it, how much you thought you had come to terms with it - this bit just totally hurts.

I just need to vent that a bit and if anyone can pass me some tissues that would be good!

even when death is a welcome release, even when you know the person has gone somewhere good, it is still a loss and a bereavemetn and will leave a sad void in your life for a good long while

grief is a process. you are only hours down the line

venting is fine !

Yes, please cry as much as you need to. And despite her having gone home, it is all right for you to cry because you will miss her, and her family will miss her. It's hard to just do without someone, no matter how peaceful she may be finally.

So sorry.

NL, I'm so sorry to read that as I know you are still suffering with your other recent loss.
Its crap isn't it? DH just found out this morning that a good friend of his was killed by a hit and run driver who it appears deliberately aimed at him on his bicycle. Life is shit. This has got me thinking about mum again and how I felt when I heard she had died

Hope you are doing ok x
