That on Monday 24th August at approximately 6pm TrinityRhino's wonderful husband was killed in a car crash.

He was working near Biggar in Scotland and was on his way home when his van and a 17-5 ton lorry collided.

Thankfully he was killed instantly and did not suffer although as you will all understand the family's suffering is on going

As many of you will know Trinity and I are really close friends and I feel as if my heart has been ripped out and have only now felt I was strong enough to post this for her (I wouldn't post without her permission) and can only imagine how she and her 3 little girls and her 2 stepsons are feeling

The world is most definately a worse place for the loss of this wonderful husband, dad & friend.

God bless and R.I.P.

I hope that makes sense as I can hardly see the keys for tears

Oh Lord Trinity! As you may know, I've left Mumsnet, but this thread was emailed to me and I cannot begin to tell you the shock I'm feeling on hearing this. I'm so sorry I can no longer be there to help out. Trinity, you struck me as one of those people who always seemed to take more than their fair of bad luck and just get on with things. You coped with things in life that I know for a fact I would struggle with. God only knows how you are coping now, but you will. You're an incredibly strong woman and I know you will be heartbroken and wretched right now, but you will get through this, you will fight back.

You know you are always welcome here. Should you need a break, we'll get a tent out for you in the garden, we have blow-up mattresses, we'd put you all up no problem. I'll give purplepillow all my details, just in case.

I'm so devastated for you, nothing I say will ever be enough to take some of the pain away. Saying sorry seems such a trite thing to say. I'm gutted for you. I will be in touch. xxx

AuntieMaggie · 29/08/2009 11:34

Rhubarb · 29/08/2009 11:35

PurplePillow, I can't contact you so I'm going to try and find Trinity's contact details which I'm sure I have somewhere. In the meantime, could you contact me so I can pass on my details? I'm at guinness_maiden at hotmail dot com.

There is a few of us around all the time atm, as Tr doesn't want to be alone (understandably)

Not sure what practical things can be done to help, but if you wish to do something it may help........ I don't know

I have tried to add your addy Rhubarb but it says its invalid.

I reckon if people want to help right now, an online shop is a good place to start - ready meals and all - as children need to eat and shopping/cooking is going to be the last thing on her mind right now.
And then maybe a cash fund to help with incidentals and stuff.

CheeseandRice · 29/08/2009 12:01

So sorry to hear this Trinity - such a tragedy

Clary · 29/08/2009 12:02

PP have been thinking of Trinity.

Is there something we can do? something practical - not sure what? Anyone got any thoughts?

mollyroger · 29/08/2009 12:03

clary see my post below. I can't organise it but sure someone can?

Clary · 29/08/2009 12:05

yes sorry molly, x-posted I think.

IIRC we did something with a fund when another MN-er had an awful tragedy. How was it done I wonder - did someone set up an account? Anyone have any dealings with that?

2shoes · 29/08/2009 12:08

omg how terrible
so sorry for the family
