he loved his garden, dd is 3 and won't be at the funeral for obvious reasons. It is my FIL btw. Do you think they are over the top cheerful, I don't want to offend my SIL. Am widowed, so I can't get dh's opinion!

If anyone can suggest alternatives, please do

They look perfect

mrsmortenharket · 20/10/2008 09:29

they are lovely did she pick them herself? bless her

MorticiaAnnSpookington · 20/10/2008 09:29

plus much nicer than a depressing cellophane bouquet or wreath..these will carry on living and look very pretty and cheery - perfect imo. Sympathies too, my FIL died a month ago, is v sad.

or would something like this be better www.iflorist.co.uk/p-1555-freesia-flower-basket.aspx

I've been told they will go to the local hospital as agreed. Sometimes they don't let them do they?

I think they're lovely

cocoleBOO · 20/10/2008 09:33

Both are beautiful, especially as they are from a child.

Sorry for your loss.

FAQ · 20/10/2008 09:33

I think the first one is better - looks like a mini English country garden rather than arrange bouquet iykwim

DelGirl · 20/10/2008 09:34

the 1st ones? I think the delicate colour is better so I think i'll go for those. Any other thoughts? thanks

first ones here too - love freesias but those are a bit brash !

OrmIrian · 20/10/2008 09:51

That is lovely. There is nothing so sad as looking at rotting brown flowers all over a grave.

So sorry for your loss.

DelGirl · 20/10/2008 10:04

yes wasn't keen on the colour of 2nd ones, just the arrangement iyswim. That's done at least. Now I just need to figure out what to wear, think I shall be wearing the same suit as I wore to dh's but no top to fit. SIL is very prim, neat and proper and no good me turning up like a sack o spuds!
