Book recommendation for 12 yo who just lost her beloved Nana

My MIL died unexpectedly and suddenly very recently and our eldest daughter was especially close to her. They had a very strong, close bond and her Nana adored her. It feels like such a huge loss and it's the first big one for my daughter.

So far she is saying "I'm just not going to think about it." Which worries me, but I guess it's early days.

She reads a lot so I just wondered if there could be a book which touches on this subject or which could be supportive in some way?

Any ideas for that, or how to help her or my partner are very gratefully received.

Perhaps you could help her prepare a memory box. I did this for my two children - I added photos, a broach, birthday cards etc. I did it for them as they were younger but maybe later, perhaps when it is coming up to the first anniversary you could do this together?

I am an adult and I find myself like your daughter when it comes to grief I kind of need time before I can engage. I haven't read any particular books that helped but I find honouring the persons memory comforting, maybe a special notebook for her to record her memories for when she is a grown up to reflect on later?.

May your MIL rest in peace.

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful reply @Marblessolveeverything
A memory box is such a good idea! I was always anticipating this happening as she had poor health most of her life, but it's still somehow an awful shock. But because of that I saved a lot of things, cards, emails etc. so we have a good base to begin with plus loads of photos. Thank you, I think this could be really helpful xx
