I'm okay y'know - I'm over the worst bit but since my best friend committed suicide this July
I just can't get over the grief.

Depression has gone but the grief is so, just there.

Bawled on NYE, crying now because I heard Barber's Adagio.

Am I expecting too much of myself for it to have gone away bby now?

a friend lost her best friend in an accident a couple of years ago, she said that last christmas/new year was awful without her and she really missed her, this year was easier.

firsts are always the hardest. sorry about your friend

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

Time truly is a great healer, trite but true, take it from one who knows.

It really is very early days yet, try to be gentle with yourself.

Have you thought about going to counselling ?

My counsellor helped me to find a way to cope with the loss of my dear Dad nearly three years ago

unlikely to have gone by now IME

when my friend died, I sort of held it in for a few months and then went to pieces after about 6 months and was in a complete state in the weeks leading up to the anniversary.

It is early days and your friend did unexpectedly and horribly which makes it worse I think sometimes.

Make sure you talk about her a lot with other friends - I really found that helped

Thank you for replies. I'm kind of surprised at myself really. I've been through ll kinds of stuff and rarely cry but this just keeps on getting to me. It freaks me rather - if I'm honest.

I spoilt New Year a bit with new partner by crying like a mad thing.

My sister commited suicide so i can symphathise with how you are feeling.

I can't really say that it gets any easier you just have to accept it.

If you would ever like to talk i would be happy to.
