Hi so I have had a rough few weeks. First off a week and a half ago I went through an awful miscarriage. 2 days ago I lost my pap to COVID 19. My workplace are awful and didn't even let me leave work when I was crying saying I needed to go to the hospital while miscarrying so as you can imagine they aren't very supportive. I work 3 days a week and didn't go in last week due to the fact I was still miscarrying. I have told my boss about my pap and said I'm not in the right mind set to be in tomorrow. Her response was ok well I'm going to need a sick note then if your having more time off. My question is will the doctors give me a sick note due to stress ect or do you think it will be a struggle?

You can self certify for up to 5working days at a time. If you've not had 5 days off in a row, you don't need a doctor's note. However, your company could take you to disciplinary if they feel you attendance is below what is required.

If you go to your Dr and explain what you've been through I'd imagine many would sign you off for a few days to grieve especially if you explain your employer is requesting it.

Flowers Also - I'm very sorry for both of your losses.

I'm so sorry for your losses.
In my experience the GP will give you a fit note that says you aren't fit to attend work. My DH was signed off for a few weeks when his brother died.
Take care of yourself, speak to the GP and stay at home for as much time as you need.

Hi OP, I'm so sorry for what you've been going through just recently, I can't believe your place of work have treat you like this, if you explain to the dr exactly what you've written here, I'm sure you will be able to get a sick note, I'm sure someone else will be along soon who will know more on this ThanksThanks

So sorry for your troubles.

I'm sure your GP will issue a "fit note" as they are called these days.

And your employer has been appalling. I'm disgusted by their attitude.
