Sleep issues

I just can't sleep, I'm so tired but it's like my body can't switch off. It's at night that the grief just really hits.

Has anyone got any advice? Should I go see my doctor?

I am sorry for the loss that is making this happen to you, how horrible for you, talk to your GP as short term prescription of sleeping tablets may help to get you through this bit, you can't survive on no sleep. Very sorry for your situation.

Thank you, I'll see if I can get a GP appointment. Surprised the codeine I am on isn't knocking me out

Yes to seeing your GP, don't be tempted to take extra codeine for sleep.

I'm very sorry for your loss, it honestly does get easier.

Not to be nosey, but how recent is your bereavement? I was on an/PTSD adrenaline high for weeks after my DH died, dry mouth, no appetite and disrupted sleep.

4 days now, but our baby was in NICU since 29th June so it's been no real sleep since then. Just one awful rollercoaster of emotions.

Were you able to get a GP appointment, Twittle? Now I remember, I just spoke to mine on the phone and the surgery allowed somebody else, (DSis) to collect the prescription.

It's the most raw time, and I didn't sleep for 3 weeks straight, because I'd also fight it because I was frightened of waking up and having the realisation of what had happened hit me all over again.

I'm so sorry about what you're going through.

No luck, couldn't get one that fitted around the Funeral planning stuff we had to get done today.

I have my midwife visiting tomorrow though so I'll mention it to her, although I suppose she will just say to go GP?

Try for a phone consultation, I'm sure they'll be more than accommodating under your circumstances. Please tell your midwife how you're feeling, she may ring GP for you.

Are you being supported through this time?

Have you had any help with the sleep.
