I came on MN this evening after some reading recommendation, and have just come across some advice on Geekgirls thread.
But I am hoping that others out there will have some suggestions.
I have a very sensitive dd, 8yo. Her great grandmother has very recently died. Her other great grandmother died about 18 months ago. She finds the thought of death very hard to cope with, and this time round has been asking lots of question about life, death, purpose, etc. She is also very scared of her parents & siblings and other family members of dying and is after reassurance that we won't leave her. She is also scared of dying herself and has only just been sobbing asking me "what if I'm murdered tonight?". Now I feel I've done as much as I can (will obviously continue to reiterate it all when she needs it) but I really feel that she is struggling and that I am not explaining things in the best ways.
So what I'm asking is, does anyone know of any books that are for children, and that talk about life and death in a positive way?
