Remembering Freya.

Two years today since my precious first born daughter Freya died from meningitis.
I wonder everyday how i have survived two years without her.
We loved her dearly and miss her so very much.

To my darling little girl.

WHEN YOU WERE BORN OUR LIFE WAS FILLED
WITH HAPPINESS AND PLEASURE,
THE FUTURE HELD SUCH DREAMS FOR US
SO MUCH FOR US TO TREASURE.

YOUR JOYFUL LAUGHTER FILLED OUR LIVES
OUR CUP WAS OVERFLOWING,
WE LOVED YOUR EVERY MOVEMENT
AND WATCHED AS YOU WERE GROWING.

BUT THEN OUR WORLD TURNED UPSIDE DOWN
THERE WOULD BE NO GREAT TOMORROW,
THIS PRECIOUS GIFT WAS ONLY LEANT
JUST MEANT FOR US TO BORROW.

WE CHERISHED YOUR SHORT TIME WITH US
BUT LIFE GOES ON, IT SEEMS,
YOU'RE NEVER FAR AWAY FROM US
AND YOU'RE ALWAYS IN OUR DREAMS.

We Love you sweetheart. xxxxxx

I remember reading about your daughter around this time last year too. What a beautiful, moving poem.

Can't imagine how any of those of you feel who have lost children. It is every mother's worse nightmare and my heart goes out to every one of you.

They are not lost, their memories remain. Some children are truly angels, they cannot remain in our world for long, but they bring light and joy for the short time whilst they are here. They touch those around them and leave an indelible footprint on the lives of those lucky enough to have known them.

I wish you all love and strength.
