Why is this early m/c left me so flat?

Brief story - very unplanned 4th pg ended in missed mc last week. Thought I was okay - but feel very flat and weepy and not good with the kids. Can't quite grasp why when wasn't planned at all tho did get used to it. Have had m/c before and it did take it out of me but went on to have another. Not sure I can do that now..........too old. Wish I had my pazazz back of sorts. Anyone had something similar?

I had mc at 5 - 6 wks, about 2 days after doing positive preg test. It wasn't planned, and when I had the mc I just felt flat - it wasn't painful, or emotionally distressing, but I was just very disappointed. It made me realise i wanted another baby!

Hope your spirits lift soon, and here is a hug xx

it's still a\shock and you must allow yourself to grieve all 3 of my mcs were at 5-9 weeks, and im still grieving now

Niceglasses, sorry to hear of your loss.
I had a missed m/c at 12 weeks in October, and it really knocked me for six. I still have wobbly moments, and sometimes have a good cry in the bath in the evening, and when reading sad posts from other mn members, which helps. I thought the feeling of overwhelming sadness would never go away, but things are getting better with time.

sorry to hear this niceglasses. I think whenever it happens its a shock and also don't forget your hormones will be all over the place at the moment which won't help at all.

Hope you feel better soon.

Its natural to feel like this - you are mourning all the what might have beens. People often think if you have other children you won't feel as bad, but you know what you are going to be missing out on by losing this baby

Mumpbump · 13/12/2006 14:26

I agree with what others have said - you are grieving of a fashion because have lost a baby that you were mentally geared up to having and loving. Plus your hormones are probably upside down from being pg so that doesn't help. I'm almost 3 weeks on from a m/c and I still get a bit tearful if I let myself stop and think about it much... I guess you feel flat because you have to accept that it's happened and get on, but it's still a sad thing to have happened.

Oh I'm sorry niceglasses, I didn't know. After all the emotional upheaval you went through it's not surprising that you are finding it hard to come to terms with. Don't question it, just give yourself time to grieve and let yourself move on when you are ready.

Thanks for all the msgs. Feeling bit better. Gonna take some time over Christmas and see how I really feel and if I can face trying again at almost 39!! Thanks for taking the time to reply and good luck Miaou with yours.

Niceglasses, how are you? Hope you're feeling a bit better.
I'm 38 and hoping to be pg with my first baby this year. Trying to move on from the m/c, and still have down moments, but am trying to remain positive.
Take care x
