You can buy the single for 99p, all proceeds to Tommy's.

We've got The Hoff! And Ricky Gervais' cat!

This kitteny celeb-fest of a video brings you some of today?s biggest stars, all supporting Tommy?s 12 Days of Christmas.

Tommy?s exists to save babies? lives because right now in the UK, one in four women loses a baby during pregnancy or birth. By 2030, we want to halve the number of babies who die during pregnancy.

Tommy's 12 Days of Christmas is a variation on this festive classic, with a range of possible activities for those who want to support us in December and January.

Will look, thanks.

Thanks for the message - will tell family and friends - as spoke to Tommy's after my sons death and have collected money for them, instead of flowers for his funeral... A very worth while charity and one that can really make a difference to so many lives.

PeachyIsNowAChristmasFruit · 10/12/2006 10:47

Oh rah Rah I spoke to them too, but I am fortunate that Sam survived.

Hugs and Christmas wishes to you and yours XX

How old is Sam? (Is Sam a boy?) Really nice to hear about Sam... How many weeks did you deliver at?

PeachyIsNowAChristmasFruit · 10/12/2006 15:37

Boy yes, aged 7, 38 weeks but he lost over a pound in utero due to severe placental damage through pre-eclampsia and was 5 lb 5oz born, at normal length- looked like a skeleton. He is registered diabled (HFA) though no link established.

If you ever want to share your story we're here. X

Wow - 7 years old... bet he's looking forward to xmas...

I had placenta damage as well, but unsure why (I have my consultants appointment tomorrow - so scared). Bertie was my first child, so worried about future pregnancies as well. Do you have any other children?

Bertie had lost some weight in between my waters breaking and delivery... he was very long and had big hands and feet, but was only 1lb 7oz... he was quite skinny in places.. I had him at 24 weeks and 1 day.... so quite far off when you had Sam. It makes all the difference on the length of time they are in the womb for maturity. There was a baby smaller than Bertie in the neo-natal unit and he was only 650grams, but 29 weeks. So although Bertie was 710grams he was much less mature in his development. I was told at the time his lungs were not mature enough, which impacted on his heart/circulation and oxygen to his brain.

The baby consultant told me that girls have a higher rate of survival when they are born prem, as they are more mature than boys.

When I called Tommy's they had just finished a study on pre-eclampsia and have started a study on blood vessels in the womb, so should find out more about bleeding during pregnancy (Which is what I had as well). Tommy's are doing some fab work and in time to come they will be able to help so much more.

I posted a thread on this part of MN about Bertie.

I have two more children, aged almost six and 3.5.

My friend lost her first, had her second at 31 weeks weighing 1.5 lbs, had her third at 38 weeks fine, lost her fourth (due to medical negligence though) and had her fifth at 39 weeks, it can be done.

Sam is excited about Christmas, although because of his HFA he focuses on different stuff to other children. DS3 is beinga ssesed for autism atm, but DS2 is totally average.

I do wish you luck, and I hope you get your baby. I was a 'miracle baby' myself, as my Mum had an immune condition and lost 4 boys then she caught rubella and needed a termination, then had me and my sisters. And that was 30 years ago!

rahrah1 · 10/12/2006 19:17

Blimey two more children.... sorry I don't know what HFA stands for. It is the best time for children (xmas) so exciting... I am one of three and use to have so much fun at xmas.

Your friends baby was of a really low birth rate, but good maturity. I always say to everyone about Bertie... it is like a roll of the dice at that age and weight... some just survive and some just cant make it. We take it that we were blessed having him for 6hrs, we are more fortunate than other parents - who never get to meet their children.

Thanks for your support, I am going to the consultant tomorrow to find out more (as we have problems conceiving as well). Bertie was our miracle baby as they kept saying he would not survive and he held on to meet us...My husband says that he knows in his heart we will have more children... I really hope this is true, as I have much love to give.. xx
