Not sure where to post this but please spare a thought today 16yrs on from when 17 precious lives were lost. 16 little angels and their teacher who died trying to protect them. They will always be remembered. R.I.P

I was driving between sites of the college I taught in when the news came on Radio 4. I went into the staffroom; have you heard? No-one had.
My DD was with her childminder, yet I was was swamped by the urge to rush over and get her, as if I could keep her safe.

The TV news showed women running down the road to the school. One woman was calling "Victoria, Victoria". It was cut from later news programmes.
ITV was going to show the Bond film "View to a Kill", but put on "Field of Dreams" instead, which I watched, and howled.

I was remembering this a few days ago, funny how your memory can work sometimes. I was off sick from school say in bed watching it all unfold on my little tv. So sad.

I was 24, and had just travelled from Manchester to Edinburgh to see my then-partner. I was just stunned to see the newsstands.....
A real flashbulb memory. Like many other posters, when I have to use the code to get into DD's nursery, I'm glad it's there.

I was pregnant with DD1. I got into the car at the end of work as the 5 o'clock pips went and knew immediately something had happened- the announcer sounded so sad.

DH had been in an hire car driving all day without CDs or tapes and drove in silence- the news was just heartbreaking Sad
RIP

I was pregnant at the time and remember attending my antenatal group. There were 10 of us and what had been planned for the session was cancelled. We talked and cried our way through instead. It was so, so awful

RIP x

I was about 11. I remember being so confused and saying to my mum "but they where in school?" over and over. Always spare a thought for them.

I remember.

I often think of them, not just on the anniversary. I was pg with dd, and ds was in reception. I remember the days after, all the parents clung to their children in the playground. The atmosphere was very very tense.
