icarried, how old is the toddler?

Would a lovely comforting blanket be ok or perhaps something to cuddle like one of the jellycat rabbits?

3 years old. I was wondering about these books:
Always And Forever by Alan Durant

No Matter What by Debi Gliori
The Next Place by Warren Hanson

WDYT?

How very kind of you to be trying to help at such a sad time.

For a three- or four-year-old, this book might be good:
www.amazon.co.uk/Goodbye-Mog-Judith-Kerr/dp/0007149697/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1295736725&sr=1-2

For a younger toddler, there is also a Dick Bruna book called Goodbye Grandma Bunny, I think, which is about Miffy's grandmother dying, but I don't think it's in print.

And again, for an older toddler, if you can get it, this book is deeply moving and very beautiful. www.amazon.co.uk/Kite-Caitlin-Roger-McGough/dp/0370323718/ref=sr_1_68?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1295736824&sr=1-68

I hope this helps.

icarried, does the bereaved family live in London? I too want to support a wonderful family who have suffered the most awful loss. When I read your post I wondered if they are the same.

I think your idea of a book is lovely, something parents and child can share.

No, not in London. So so so sad for the family, beautiful 10 month old suffered for too long, as have a beautiful and strong family. His short life has touched so many of us and made us all take a long hard look at ourselves. I feel quite a different person having followed their journey and so do many others. The stars are shining even more brightly tonight.
Thanks so much for the links, I will have a look now. x

I'm sure the family will appreciate your support. I looked up the books you mentioned and they look good, also looked up ttalloo's links. The Mog book is so very touching.
