Hi bannana and welcome to MN. I don't know what a molar pregnancy is, excuse my ignorance, but I thought I'd bump you up the active conversations in case anyone else does!

hi, i havent had one but was wrongly diagnosed with one in dec 2003, i was approx 7 weeks preg and had some bleeding, a scan revealed nothing but an empty sac, more suggestive of 5 weeks and hcg tests were through the roof, the doctor gently explained that they thought it was a hydatidform mole and prepared me to go to charing cross for treatment, i was told to have further hcg;s which were abnormally high and another scan a week later, however the doctor said this would confirm what they already knew, i packed my bag for hospital and on the day went for my scan, only to be told that i didnt have a mole, but was less preg than i thought.
was yours a full or partial mole?

i will explain briefly a molar pregnancy is caused by abnormal fertilisation of the egg. the cells that make up the placenta are abnormal and cause it to overgrow. this is called a molar pregnancy .some times it buries its self in the uterus and develops into cancerus tissue which is treated with chemo. i had never heard of it either very rare. just wondered if anyone had had it

a complete one i was in charing cross for 1 week 30th june and have been having low risk chemo since had last one today they say it will not effect fertility and had a 80-90% chance of normal preg but have to wait a least a year before can try. hcg level was 9009 normal rate under 4 but some people in there were over 300,0000

i was diagnosed with a molar pregnancy, thinking i was 8 wks and twin sacs only size of 6 and empty. this caused a big who-ha for a few days and really distracted everything from the loss of a pregnancy, you become a medical problem rather than a mother to be! It turned out to be a simple miscarriage and i think the docs were almost disappointed that they didn't have this rare condition to deal with!! Hope you are all well and recovering, my thoughts are with anyone who has lost a pregnancy....
