This time last year, BIL died.

He was really popular and well loved- there will be quite a few sad people today, and quite a few glasses raised in the pubs of Newcastle and Washington tonight.

DP has gone out to work without mentioning it, that is his way of coping. I'm going to ring PIL in a bit, but no idea what to say. Might ask if they want me and the kids to pop round, but fair enough if they don't- they might not want my two wrecking the house today.

PJD- we are thinking of you. Much love. xxx

:( Just talked to DD1. She saw me looking at his picture and said "That's my uncle! He's dead now."
I said "Yes, that's very sad."
DD1: "He's at the doctor- he'll get better"
Me: "No, when you die you can't get better"
Her face crumpled. "I don't want to die!"
I told her that usually it is only people who are very old or poorly that die, and she went off to play. Is that ok?
