Sleep Problems

Hi, I have a two and a half year old daughter and we've been having some problems with her sleeping for a while now. She has good nights and bad, the bad being where she will wake up at one or two in the morning and then stay awake for 2, 3 or more hours. She is in her cot in our room, which she is happy with, apart from when she wakes up then comes in with us. It doesn't happen every night, but it has happened quite a few times over the last couple of weeks. Has anyone had any experience of this, and can make any suggestions of what to do?
Thanks very much!

Hi, she does ask for milk occasionally when she wakes up, and she doesn't eat loads during the day. Thanks very much, I'll give it a try.

Might you be disturbing her if you're all in the same room? I had to turf my son out at a relatively early age because either he would snuffle and cough and wake me up or I'd let rip a snore or a sneeze and do the same to him.

And how dark/quiet is the room? It's natural to go through periods of light sleep and any little noises or light from outside can cause someone to wake up.

Heartily support the Weetabix idea. In our house it was a banana and warm milk at bedtime. Low GI Carbs and lactose is a very sleepy combo.

We're planning on moving her in the very near future. At the moment the room is very warm because of this weather, and I wondered if that might be affecting her more than normal? The only light on is the downstairs landing one, which can only just be seen, would you suggest no lights? And have just been up to the local shop to buy Weetabix! Thanks
