1st post, and probably similar to others, apols for that.

Our lovely 25 day old daughter (normal in everyway) has turned from sweetness personified to horror screamster in the past 2 days.

Typical past 2 days have been:
Midnight: feed, normal sleep, own bed.
3am: feed, normal sleep. Own bed.
6am: feed, normal sleep with mum.
9am: feed, screeeeeeeeeeeeam
10, 11, 12, 1pm - 20 min naps followed by speed feeding, and screaming. Changing her nappy every hour or so - normal movements.
This follows until 10pm when she's so exhausted she has a proper sleep until about midnight.

She hiccups quite a lot (always has) and has normal bf milk "chuckup".

Does your experience tell you that this will pass in the next few days.... or should we be looking to make changes / investigate further now. Before we go nuts. And deaf. She really has gone to level 11 with the screaming.
Thanks in advance.

Has she got a temperature?

3littlefrogs · 28/06/2010 20:55

She is too hot?? Thirsty?? It has been very hot over the past 2 days.

We have done all the "normal" checks - shes not got a fever, and I'm actually in Scandinavia, and although warm, its not hot as such. A nice 22C in our house.

We've been giving her extra liquid and camomile tea in between her filling her lungs ready for the next waaaaaaaa.

Does winding help at all? You say she's quite hiccuppy. If she's only grabbing 20 minute naps then it could be she's being woken up by tummy ache. And if it is wind, maybe the reason she's 'speed feeding' is because she's not actually hungry... and more food is just compounding the problem.

She winds well. And no problems getting gas out the other end either.

reflux?

My 13w old son always appears to wind well but then sometimes has bad wind even so, 20 minute screaming fit out of nowhere at all this afternoon (while we were at a BBQ and after everyone had commented how good he was ) ... I thought he was going to choke himself it was so bad and then he farted and all was well .

Only thing that works with him is keeping him fairly upright. He falls asleep on his Dad's shoulder more often than he should probably, but since giving birth I have become very focused on the immediate problem ...

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter and I hope things get easier.
