my 27 month old is always the most teratorial child at the playground and can be quite aggressive. he growls at other children and shouts at them and always gravitates towards older groups playing rougher games. recently noticed his legs are getting quite hairy - does this mean he has more testosterone than normal and also explain behaviour

Amount of hair and testosterone levels are linked. Everyone, naturally, is somewhere on a spectrum between placid and aggressive. However, behaviour is learned and therefore influenced by many other things than hormones or genetics. Most influential, of course, is what you will or will not tolerate as a parent.

Couldn't resist chiming in with the fact that my 3 year old DD yes DD, is like a little gorilla god love her, I'm already concerned for how paranoid she's going to be in years to come if she gets teased. The tops of her arms even have dark dark hair and lots of it.......................and she's the least aggressive child you could meet, in fact she's the first to step back from the slide for example if anyone else is coming near it, she'll let everyone go ahead of her.............tbh, I wish she were a little Less timid!

Interesting topic. I have very hairy legs though, does that mean I have a lot of testosterone??! Might explain a lot .

My dh and I were commenting the other day on how ds has next to no hair on his legs and NONE on his arms. He is 3 and funnily enough, the most non-aggressive, gentle little boy. He hates all the rough and tumble of toddler's games and seems scared by even loud voices. He's not anti-social but just prefers being with older girls making pretend cups of tea and pushing dolly prams and things. He doesn't even like football or any ball games because he says he will get pushed about, bless him. He has plenty of energy but it just very passive and I fear when he starts school in September he will be an easy target .

Interesting- hairiness and testosterone, could be a valid link.

Extrapolate this line of thought and David Walliams should be a ranting madman... have you ever seen him bare-chested? It's like a mohair sweater.
