I used to very consistentlt pick up ds's hand and put it on the dummy for him to put back in - taught him to find it in no time. I also got a dummy strap as well and taught him to just feel for it . You need to be consistent and my ds was a little older than yours - but this was on the advice and guidance of my sleep counsellor at Millpond....as DS ALWAYS woke 4-5 times a night for nearly 15 months!

i will try that, she can put dummy in herself just the case of finding it dummy strap will make it easier. thanks

I've just started with the dummy strap and it has improved (DS 6 months). Still deciding whether to wean off totally but for every bad night we now get more good nights so I chicken out. Last few nights DS slept through from 10.30pm feed until 6.15, no replacing of dummy... so it must be working! good luck... you can get the MAM straps that work quite well as they move around the dummy

Hi mummy2t, I've got the same problem with my 10 month DD and we have always had to get up 2/3/3/5 times a night to put dummy back in, we've even given it a name "dummy run", yea not all that funny at 4 in the morning. Be careful of dummy strap, i thought that might be the answer and got one and the first night went in and she had turned and it was wrapped around her neck! Not so good! I still use it for car, which is the only other place she can have dummy and it helps her find it and put it in there. I shall watch this thread with interest and I hope some other dummy runners might have some ideas. Next baby will not be having a dummy for exactly this reason, at least a thumb is always where they can find it, who cares about the teeth, that what braces are for (;
