Not coping well with 15 month old

Hello
I feel like I am really struggling at the moment with my DS. He seems so miserable all the time. Today he woke up an hour early from his afternoon nap and cried for a full hour; I tried everything I could think of but he just wailed and wailed. In the end I bundled him into the car and drove around as I couldn't cope with it any more.
Surely this shouldn't still be happening at 15 months?
He seems so much more miserable than other babies/toddlers.
I am fed up and for the past few weeks thinking very negative thoughts about parenting in comparison to life before.

mrsjuan - thanks for making me smile with your last sentence. I know what you mean!

Oh MrsJuan all I can say is I could have written your post word for word. You are not alone! Particularly identified with having a screaming fit because she couldn't pull my lips off. My DD at 15 months is just the same. No advice I'm afraid other than hang on in there as it has to get better. And hi to everyone who was with me on the BLW thread - we seem to be having a little reunion here :-)

Oh yes - hello fellow BLWs - I thought I recognised the names from somewhere.
I am hoping (perhaps in vain) it will get better when she starts walking as I seem to remember she went through a difficult phase just before she started crawling. It must be very frustrating for them when they can't move as much as they'd like.
I keep thinking 'this time next year...'

On a positive note we've had a lovely lunch out with her today and she's currently working her way through a sheet of stickers - I wonder if any of the other whingy babies/toddlers would like them? I didn't think she woud be able use them yet but she loves peeling them off and sticking them to another sheet of paper - lovely and calm for at least 10 minutes!

Sounds just like my DS used to be. Terrible sleeper from being a day old, just couldn't switch off and would scream day and night with a bit of colic thrown in the middle somewhere. Was terrible grumpy when he woke up and i could never undertand why he woke as he quite obviously needed more sleep. I used to get my hair pulled and he'd wriggle in my arms when i tried to pick him up and cuddle him. He started to sleep a bit better when he learnt to walk and certainly much happier when he learnt to talk which was just before 2yrs. He's now an extreemly active and chatty 2yrs 6mths old and still is not the best sleeper but what a difference in just a year. Hang on in there x

Oh yes! I thought I recognised some BLW names, but wasn't sure.

Stickers sound worth a go. DS has been walking since he was 9mo, so that can't be it for him. I guess I have to hope things will get better when he starts talking...

Having said that, we have also had a lovely lunch out today, and he's been in a better mood recently. Think it was a very long run of bugs that seemed to really get him down.

Thanks so much everyone for your support and advice, it has made me feel much better about things and given me some hope for the future.
