Anyone else's DCs that don't seem to notice temperature?

Have 3 DCs.

DS1 (10) has never to my recall complained of being hot or cold. He comes downstairs in shorts in the middle of winter, or in a jumper and jeans when it's 27 degrees, and gets irritated when told to get changed - he can't see what's wrong. Last night DH picked him up from football, it was hot and all the other boys were in t-shirts but DS1 still had his sweatshirt on as well and was pouring with sweat but it had not occured to him to take it off. He is a bright boy, kind popular and sociable but his personal organisation is poor, I think because things just don't occur to him.

DD is 8 and doesn't seem to complain much about temperature but always dresses appropriately to the weather and takes layers off/puts them on as needed. She is a very organised person however.

I just asssumed that temperature awareness was something that kids picked up when they were older. However, DS2 is 2.9 and has started to comment on himself being cold or warm, on my hands being cold when I got him changed, asking to have his coat on or off depending on how he feels and it struck me that neither of the other two ever did that at that age, but more importantly, DS1 still doesn't do it at ten!

Is there something the matter with him? Or is he normal and DS2 is oddly fussy and self-aware? Or is this just another part of DS1's Absent Minded Professor-ness?

My dd could become his assistant absent minded professor -ess. She seems to have little concept of heat or cold. When we lived in Thailand she decided she needed to wear a vest and cardigan at the hottest time of the year and here in Switzerland she's been known to appear in shorts and a sweatshirt when the snow is 30cm deep. With her, I think it's part of her general quirkyness. At least I hope so.

i teach y3-6. i regularly have to tell children to take their sweatshirts off as they are bright red, sweaty and complaining of feeling sick after running round all lunch time in them on a hot day.
it's normal - especially for boys! far better things to do (football) than worry about temperature - well until they've got to sit down and do some work!

oh and don't get me started on our y6 girls, short skirts and bare legs in winter!
