Sleeping on front @ 6 months

I've read a few bits about this before but just wanted some clarity really... just had the best nights sleep as DS slept on his front all night (until gone 8am this morning, I had to wake him!!). He usually gets restless about 4am, 5am and then 6am so this is amazing. BUT whilst he can flip onto his front he can't flip back yet. I turned him a few times before I went to bed but he went straight back over... I checked him at 6am and he was fine so I left him. SO, is it ok if he can't flip back yet?? Not that I have much choice as he is turning over himself and I can't stop him but it may make me less paranoid to know it is ok and then I'll sleep too...

according to the sids website you can let them find their own sleeping position from 6 months. From SIDS:

My baby keeps rolling onto his front. What should I do?

If your baby is less than six months old and you find him sleeping on his tummy, gently turn him onto his back. Don?t feel you need to keep getting up all night to check on this. Whatever your baby?s age, always place him to sleep on his back.
